Polishing cam towers
Thursday, June 26, 2008 9:27 PM
just wondering if anyone has tried sanding and polishing the 2.4/2.3 cam towers or timing housing??
mine is already assembled..and while the rest of the engine is PRETTY..the cam towers are basic sandblasted alumium...they are fairly smooth but the color just sticks out compared to everything else ya know??
has anyone tried this while its on the car? if so how did it turn out and what grits did you start and end with..thanks!

talk to wade jarvis, he had his timing chain housing professionally polished and believe me it looks GORGEOUS in person.

This doesnt help, but my timing housing is now polished, but... I had it proffesionally done... I wanted to do the cam towers, but I thought that would be too much work.. Im pretty sure Gary(John317) has his cam towers either polished or chromed.
