Removing adhesive for vent visors
Tuesday, October 14, 2008 6:21 PM
Well my vent visors were extremely close to being lost while I was going down the highway so I removed them. Problem is now that I have the adhesive is still for the most part on the car. Whats the best way to remove it? Thanks in advance.

rub off as much as you can with your thumbs, then try some goo-gone or any tar/grease/bug remover.

Well I couldn't find any of the 3M stuff. However I tried goo gone and it worked alright, although there is a thin layer or residue that just will not come off. Any tips?

I got three cans from Advance Auto Parts, they were just sitting on the shelf.

Got to a paint and body shop place and get one of there rubber erasers for removing the adhesive left over from removing moldings on cars. You put it in a drill and takes it right off and will not hurt the paint. Took me 15 mins to get the adhesive left over off my one sunfire after removing the side moldings.

Also the 3m stuff is complete junk when compared to one of the wheels. It makes to glue like snot and stick to everything. Real pain in the butt. Also the wheel might cost you like 5 bux's. I know carquest carrys them and maybe napa also.
