Another Side Mirror Question
Thursday, October 16, 2008 7:18 PM
Ok...so I knocked off my passenger side mirror on accident and need to replace it. I decided to get the cheap m3 mirrors off ebay. It turns out I bought the ones with the universal bracket for the 95-99 coupe when I have an 01. Has anyone been able to modify the bracket to work or even tried??? Is it possible?? Looks about the same size....

the mirrors are the same size 95-05. the only difference is power and non power, and the convertable ones are a little bit different too i think but if its a coupe(2door)no worries. the bracket will work but they arent going to sit level like the stock ones. they are going to stick up like bunny ears and will be kind of goofy looking.

That is what I thought...but they have different places to bolt on then the stock brackets and don't fit like I figured they would. The way they are made I can't even place the bracket against the side of the car. There are 3 large posts on the back of the bracket and they don't line up with the stock holes.

Further more, this is what the ad said:
You are bidding on a 100% brand new set of:
95-04 Chevrolet Cavalier 2-door paintable M3-style power side mirror w/ LED signal lights in carbon fiber

- It comes as a pair (left & right) in OEM quality/fitment
- It is made of high quality ABS plastic and ready to paint (comes in carbon fiber look originally)
- Features 2 in 1 switchable blue and xenon white LED lights, it can directly be connected to factory wire as the turn signal
- They are power mirrors
- Professional installation and paint job recommended

sounds like the right thing?? The other line of their ad said 95-99....I'm confused....maybe they sent the wrong bracket??

You probably have to swap the three studs on your stock mirror to the one you bought.

your confused because ALL CAVALIERs and SUNFIRES FROM 1995 TO 2005 use the same exact mirrors. all sedean mirrors are the same, all coupes are the same, and all convertibles are the same.

mabe somehow they sent you ones for a sedan rather then for a coupe?

The one I bought doesn't have the mounting spots in the same location.

I sent the seller a message asking the same question. I have a feeling I may have the wrong brackets as the brackets were loose in the big box with the mirrors in a smaller box.

Then you've obviously got the wrong bracket, I'd contact the seller and have 'em send you another set.
