spray tint

Sry if this is a repost, I searched but couldnt find everything I am looking for. I want to black out my taillights and corner lights and this spray tint stuff sounds good but Iv never used it so I wanted to get some other opinions. does it spread evenly or goop up in some spots? and do I spray it on the inside or outside of the lights? Any brands I should stay away from? I live in Calgary AB Canada so if anyone knows any local stores I could buy it at rather than ordering it that be great.

VHT NITESHADES is pretty much the standard when it comes to home-tinting lights.

It does not go on like regular spray paint. I would recomend getting 2 cans, and maybe some plexi to practice on.

Also, adding clear coat on top of the niteshades usually helps get a smooth, glossy shine.

You can try different wetsanding techniques, etc on your practice pieces.

Il help yah out fellow Calgarian. I used VHT nightshades for mine. They have it at most local parts stores. Id sugest you do a few light coats depending on how dark you want it. I did two very light coats on mine and then cleared them. Dont look as shiney in this pic as they really are...

Awesome!
More Calgarians!

To tint mine out, I went to the chinook model and hobby shop, and bought model tint.
It actually worked very well.
Just make sure to take your time on your prep work,
I rushed mine the first time around and it chipped like a mofo.

These instructions are From a volvo forum, but the process is the same. How to tint taillights

Here's a pic of mine:

They're not quite as dark as they look in the pic, but more of a dark cherry color in the sunlight.

I went to this guy in the NE who worked at a tint shop but also buys the tint and operates in his garage part-time for cheap,
I don't have the card on me, I'll try to hunt it down tomorrow for ya, He's a real good guy,
dropped me and my mom's car off in the morning, he had them both done by 5 pm.

As for the darkness,
I went limo tint on the three back windows.
As far as I'm concerned, anything but blacking out completely on the back windshield and rear passengers is fair game.
Front passenger windows are not allowed to have any tint at all,
but I went 25% anyways.
I haven't been pulled over for it yet, since there's so many other cars on the road with darker windows.
but if you get pulled over for speeding or something, roll down both windows to save yourself from trouble hahaha.

Depends on where you live and how slack your officers are.
If they light up fine and you can show the fuzz that indeed they do,
You should be able to get off the hook.
Look into buying brighter LED taillight bulbs while you're at it. I saw some at wal-mart the other day.

^^ LED "bulbs" are actually dimmer than a regular filament bulb.
