02 Sunfire Styling
Thursday, August 30, 2012 8:04 PM
Ive had my sunfire a few months now and i love the car.... except the view from behind. Any ideas for altering the rear bumper, lights, or wing? Ive thought about a cavalier rear end swap but i guess thats more work than the car is worth. Also, I really like this style of hood that covers the top of the lights but i cant seem to find one with no hood scoop. http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2008/02/03/02/06/2000_pontiac_sunfire_se_coupe-pic-23921.jpeg

Alrighty now that it's in the right section....a cavalier coupe rear bumper will not bolt up to a sunfire coupe (trust me I wish it would) But as far as tailights go you could go buy a can of VHT night shades and tint ur rear tails...i personally did this and the whole rear bezel and I love it . And the hood is generally called a evil eye hood or eyelids and most people custom make them like myself...

Rear bezel being the section in between the tail lights? Im not sure how it would work as my car is black. The lights would look good though. Did you start with a stock hood and add to it or start from scratch?

Oh and u can also remove that half moon spoiler and it looks alot better and if u haven't already done it remove the side moldings and pin stripping gives it alot cleaner look

I do like it without the extra on the sides. Id like to change the spoiler for sure but i just cant find one that isnt huge. Never really thought of just taking it off. I really like the look of the cavalier rear quarter windows but im not sure if you can swap the whole window with the frame around it?

If u want a cavy rear with sunfire front....the easiest way is to buy a cavy and do a front end swap.lol

Also sunfires are pretty limited on spoiler ideas...so most just remove the half moon and keep it clean and simple...my car came without 1 fortunately so I didn't have to plug any holes

ha yea, id really like to do that but being 17 and having parents makes that pretty difficult lol. once i get it painted i think that i will be a lot happier with it. its just the rear bumper is a little too.... curvy.

look into the 1st generation tiburon spoiler.. need to be modified a bit but IMO its the best style for the fire coupes.

I understand....even being as creative and skilled like I am I can't even think of anything to do with my stock rear.lol

There is some potential in some body kits ive found but mostly they're too extreme for my taste. Azncav, what year style for that spoiler were you thinking? 03 or 05 looked good to me

search for Gary Franks sunfire either on here or on google.

but heres is his car... sexy i might add. keep in mind he has the 03-05 sunfire but the trunk itself is identical to yours.

You can also swap your tails and bezel for that style but u need the rear bumper too...im not 100% of what's all involved with that

hey welcome to jbo eric.

hey dan what did you plugged the holes with when you removed your spoiler and side trim?

My deck lid was spoilerless from the factory. And since my car is a 97 se all I had was the strip of side moulding so all I had to do is pull it off and remove the glue.

Have u checked out rksport at all they have some pics up of your body style and the 03-05 body style I personally don't like the spoilerless look cause it takes away from the rest of the car so I am doin the double spoiler look like is listed on rksport or you can go into my profile and see it their...
