Who to buy a body kit from.
Friday, April 22, 2005 2:51 PM
Hey guys I am new to the whole J-Body thing. First thing I want to upgrade is the exterior. I have browsed through the forums and it seems like the best place to get a body kit is two different people.

1. Tabasco Racing

2. A Plus Performance

They are about equal in price. I just wondered if anyone has an opinion which has the better quality or are they pretty much the same? I am really looking for a good bodykit that won't break the bank but I also want to buy from a company that seems respected by other J-Body owners. Any and all opinions are welcomed.

I am leaning towards the drift kit. It is for a 95-99 Cavalier. Like I said I have heard good things about both companies just didn't know if one was better than the other as far as quality or fitment.

Take a look at the TRD kit that Jim at Gravana is running right now in the GP. I think thats one of the best fronts for the Cavys

Also take into consideration your road conditions around where you live. If you live in an area like mine (rural PA)... the roads are TERRIBLE. Fiberglass kits though cheaper... will not hold up if your road conditions are terrible. Urethane is more expensive, but it'll last a lot longer and hold up a lot better.

And chances are you will end up paying double if not tripple at the body shop to get it installed.

I heard some real bad things about eBay, do not buy from there. But I guess if you want cheap then go to eBay, but it is said you get what you pay for....

save a few hundred on cheap ebay kit.......and then spen way more than a few hundred getting kit to just fit. save up buy a quality kit. i used to be against urethane until i hit a small stop sign two small cracks easily fixed while a fiberglass bumper would have been completely shattered thats just my 2 cents
