question about applying nightshade to taillights.
Friday, May 05, 2006 1:16 AM
been wanting to do this for a while, and have a few questions:

1) do i need to sand the taillights first? or just clean with some alchohal then spray it on?

2) does it NEED a clear coat afterwords? or can i just use some good wax?

3) i dont know much about doing this, so do any of you have any other advice?

thanks all!

see if u can search i kno this has been asked before. i havent used the stuff or anything but i doubt u'll wanna sand them.. prep em real good and just apply a light coat or two for the first coats and allow it to tack up. but my advise would be to test spray it on paper or something first so u know what it will spray like and how far u need to be to prevent runs.. cuz u def do not want any runs so make sure u keep a good distance(bout 12inchs) between the can and the taillight..can should have some amount of directions on it. as for the clear coat and wax i have no clue. i dont think u use a clear coat..

i would sand before applying. mostly to sand the lettering off the outter tail lights. but it's completely optional. and i would clear. the nightshides itself is kinda dull. DONT PUT ALOT OF COATS ON THEM.

just my $0.02
