He wasn't really a friend at the time but a coworker did come out to me. No one was really surprised though. It didn't stop me from becoming friends with him.

I've read all the posts in this thread so far and my only question so far is "You're Bi?" never knew that, and I've been on here for a bit now. Oh well, Welcome to the Forum to me LOL.
Not a prob with the whole woman on woman thing, but get two bikers together kissing and it's on, not down for the whole "gay pride march" in front of me or my kids. At least some lesbians take a more "male and female" role in their relationship (read: some). Most gay men around here act just that, "gay", as in exactly like the movies make them out to be.
My wifes uncle is "light in the loafers" (as my father in law puts it) and he and his partner are a couple of the nicest people I know. they aren't "out" to his mother (my wife's grandmother) though, they fear that it would kill her, but she knows, she's not dumb. Heck, her uncle even watches the game with us when he's up this way, thing is, when we talk about the cheerleaders or girls in the commercials, he starts in on the players LOL
Also KOTL - that's a lovely young lass you have there. My question to you is, Will you being having a "Goth" style wedding if/when the proper time comes? I would be interested in viewing something like that, I find the "Goth" culture, not the Manson style, the classical/historical style like as in what I've seen in you, very fascinating, so elegant and refined, yet "dark" and "mysterious".
We shall see. Considering that even though we've known each other for a few years, we've only been together for 2.5 months.
It wll not be something traditional, i guarentee that. I will not be married by any christian preist, or in a church. if i'm goint to make an oath to stay with someone, and swear on something greater than me, i will make sure it's something I actually believe in, which desn't include anything of Judeo/christian/islamic descent (not a strike against any of you that are any of those, but hey, for those that are christian, or muslim, or jewish, would you want to be married by a Wicca High Priestess?). Further, that also unincludes a state ceremony, because i don't recodgnize the state as a higher authority (more like something that most normal people need to survive--and i'm anything but
). So, needless to say, It will take some planning when I'm ready to pop the question--Which for me will be most likely when she's through with College and her career is starting.

you think that most gay guys DO act like the stereotype? flamy, feminine, limp wrist.. that kind of stereotype?
I know there are lots that are like that. But you have to remember, those are the ones that are like that.
There are atleast as many gay/Bi guys that just act as straight as the next guy and you would only konw if he told you, even then you probably woulndt believe him.
I konw you said "around here" but its everywhere, people only notice the ones that stand out, not the ones they are standing beside wondering why u are staring at the flamers
fyi: imo most people on this planet are bi in some way or another. not saying everyone could swing either way at any time or both ways all the time. but there are so many str8 guys that at one time in their life have atleast thought of what its like to do something with another guy. wither it be when they were 14 or older, whether its jsut a thought or they actually took action on it. wether it be just thinking about another guy's manhood or looking at another's to compare.. and same for women, its just more acceptable for a woman to say .. oh wow shes hot, i want her legs .. bla bla bla..
some guys say " oh i dont look at him that way, i couldnt tell u if hes ugly or not " but in reality, they may not care if someone it ugly or not, but can still tell because they have their own idea what looks good and what doenst. why else would they work out their bodies to try to look good, and subscribe to mens health magazine full of male pictures, sure its just of abs, pecs, legs, back, buttox.. and mostly clothed, but hmm ya they arent thinking that that body looks good atall
they just dont see it that way rite? heh.. wrong.

I'll take it as one...
And yes, Angel, you would be invited, saying it gets that far (i'll never presume on anything).

Thats true but it does not necessarily mean anything as far as having hidden/subconscious gay feelings. I think there are allot of great looking cars out there but I don't want to have sex with any. I think the" I can't tell if a guy looks good" is more of a fear of being called gay by admitting a man is good looking.

I agree.
I know being 21 now and going through high school, guys are very quick to call another guy gay if he would to say "he's a good looking guy" but on the other hand a guy can say another guy is ugly and not hear anything about being gay...its a double standard...how do you know a guy is ugly unless you can determine if a guy is good looking?
I'm old enough and even more comfortable with my sexuality to admit if a guy is good looking or not but of course it doesn't mean I want to have sex with them, I can just tell if they are good looking in my perspective or not. Nothing wrong in judging someones looks from a same sex perspective...girls do it all the time...

Yeah...we all hope that they brush each others hair and start touching each other after saying that the other girl is pretty.

i never said if you can determine the looks of a guy being ugly or not makes you gay or bi or want to have sex withit..
but why would guys be scared to be called gay? yes because of society. but i mean if everyone can determine who looks good or not. then why is the term used?
either we are all bi and its up to how you were raised and the enviroment you are in that makes you swing one way or the other.. or ..... we are all bi and some just have a preference more for one than the other.. some being soo strong to one that they only look at the same sex as being good looking or not. wouldnt u admit that some super hot guy that could turn both sexes heads to him or some super hot chick that could turn both sexes head make you think that shes or he is attractive to both sexes no matter of orientation.? sure u mite not want to have sex with them. but you are attracted enough to look or think that they are good looking.
u can throw that out the window unless you never see guys or ever look at guys walking down the street or anything because you honestly dont care. sometimes u mite not. but im sure most of you when u see someone of the same sex walk past you or u him/her whatever.. im sure the thought sometimes is in ur head about how u look to him/her..
thinking " do they think im cool, do they wanna be like me, he looks good, ewww gross person.. im soo better than them do they think they want my looks or my life? "
stuff like that.
our lives are driven by sexual desire.. sure u mite not want to have sex with another guy just because it doenst toot ur whistle but it doenst mean ur not attracted to some guys if only just because of their looks and being able to admit it.

What if your best friend, that you've known since you were a little kid, came out of the closet and admited he/she was gay? Would you stop being friends with them? Would you accept them like before?
My point of view, I have problem with anyone being gay...it's your life. I'm not homophobic and I couldn't just stop my friendship because of their sexual orientation that they aren't really involving me in. Most friends know other friends boundaries so I would think they know not to try anything with me being that I'm straight (and that goes for most gay people in general).
Well...what do you guys think?
doesnt bother me...
i know i like the opposite sex, but if someone else likes the same, doesnt bother me one bit.
my college roomate just came out about a month ago.... we used to joke around saying he was gay... but then he was....
girl on girl stuff appeals to me the same as guy on guy... no reaction to it really. granted most guys love it, but will be quick to oppose two guys, which is kinda hypocritical cause its not the the stereotype they can handle.
so far i have as friends
asexual
bisexual
heterosexual
homosexual
trisexual
and trysexual friends...
nothing phases me these days. nor in the past really. i was watching porn by the age of 6.... and that was a xmas present
How about vegisexual?
(bonus to people that get the reference).
