I finished 3rd in both Kata (forms) and kumite (Sparing). I've got to step-up my game more in the advanced division.

Unfortunitely, I ended up with atleast two broken toes! My foot is on ice for tonite, I can't make it.

Here's the Results from the Event. I'm in the 35 + y/o Advanced Division (Kata and Kumite). My training partner, Jeramaih Hart, took third in kata and won the Kumite in an increadible final match in the 18-34 y/o Advanced Division.

I've go a couple of fat, light purple toes and they turn in a differnet direction than they used to... Not the first time and won't be the last, but the worst so far!

But a ton more work, they are a tight squeeze and they are heavy.

The big port 3400s are the way to go. Not as much horsepower and torque as the 3800 Series II SC, but is almost a bolt in and weigh quite a bit less for better weight distribution. You can actually work on them in the engine bay of the J's. The most difficult is the wiring harness. The torque and horsepower if much greater than what's available from any N/A 4 cyl from GM. The narrow v-angle and short deck allow for a more compact motor.

If/when I do a V6 swap, the 3400 is the way I would do it. It would bolt right up to my transmission and I can use the same radiator. Though the 3100 isn't a bad swap either, jut the 3400 is the better of the two.

I would never put a 3800 in a cavalier... i believe the 3900 would work with the n body mounts... so 3900 or no balls.
