Theres a kid in my voc who thinks his Jetta is BADASS.
2000 Jetta 5 speed 2.0 SOHC .
He said his car is very quick , i looked up the stats and all i could find was the auto running an 18.
His only mod : K&N drop-in.
He also keeps pestering me with stupid exhaust questions , he wants ALOT OF POWER , with no sound at all . I told him thats going to be very hard to do.
So this is his solution .. he wants to get a Neuspeed cam , but leave the intake system and the whole exhaust stock ( or he might change JUST the muffler ) Me and Boosted SVTF told him that is worthless , but he tells us that hes going to get alot of power out of it.

Hahahahaha that kid is a schmuck. The 2.0 barely has enough power to get out of its own way, especially in a Jetta. With a cam? 5 hp, maybe. Unless boost and non-poospeed parts are part of the equation, it will always be slow. Granted, the older ABA code 2.0 (commonly referred to as the crossflow) had some potential for all motor performance, and some people have gotten them up to over 170 whp all motor, it wasn't without wicked completely unstreetable cams and either sidedraft carbs or individual throttle bodies paired with standalone fuel injection. Nothing Neuspeed has, not even their supercharger, will make that jetta any faster than AT BEST mid 15's... more likely 16's.

Lol none of the ones i have would be a good match for the eco, i've got a T25 and a K03 non-sport. Rich has a spare T3 thats a slightly smaller trim than what he's running on the car now, and we may have other uses for that one soon

Why stop at twin? Take every turbo you guys have and create some massive hybrid turbo system. 1 turbo per port.

Alright i think i found out one of the many problems ...
I think i need a new strut mount .. does anyone know exactly how to tell ?
Also i have no idea where to get them from other then GM ?

You should be able to get strut mounts at autozone, advanced auto, pepboys...... Whatever is the closest. Ask one of the counter boys to look it up for you, they should stock them. And if they don't have the 2000+ ones the 95-99 ones wil work just as well. Should run you about $48 a piece.

From the Tein Instructions i have read online , they said you NEED the 2000+ ones. Im just going to wait it out and see what happens. I dont think i could have ruined the strut mount from not really driving the car much.

Me posting at work is the same excuse you give for posting while at school...
I do all my work and nights are slow so there is absolutely nothing else to do while waiting for alarms to come in. When alarms come in or people need help, I stop what I'm doing to do my job and when I'm done I can go back online.
