9I'll fix that when I get back over there ................Doug in Az
92 Pontiac Sunbird LE, 2.0, AT, Red / Black with Grey 155K miles. Hurricane Maria Survivor ! ( It takes a licking and keeps on ticking ! ).....in Salinas, Puerto Rico!
Our 1994 Sunbird LE Sedan currently has 267,128 miles on it. It was purchased brand new by my parents on January 1, 1994. The transmission was rebuilt at 217,200 miles. Besides that, we haven't had any major issues with it.
My 92 Coupe has 180K runs smooth and good. I expect to get another 100k out of it before one or the other of us die.
If the tranny goes, I will get it fixed. Cheaper than replacing the car.

My 1988 VL Coupe has 218,000 miles. Uses no oil. and still gets 35 MPG. it's only had tires brakes shocks plugs wires and muffler replaced. untill now I replaced the right front motor mount. it was clunking. I did install the seats and wheels from a Z24 on it along with a CD/ radio.are the only mods done to it. Still even has the original clutch.
93 Bird 285,000 and climbing fast. I drive it over 100 miles a day in all weather and at all speeds. Funny, you never see these things anymore but another one appeared in my work parking lot a couple of weeks ago.
My 89 z24 hit I believe 275,000 before I swapped to a digital cluster. Trans, engine, and suspension have <50 miles on them. I never had any issues with the car in the 6 years I owned it other then the trans bracket, the heavy metal one broke and snapped one of the bolts off in the trans and also took out both my cv axles in the process while I was cruising down the highway at 60mph. Made a big mess of some things.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.
1991 Cavalier 408,000 kms(255,00mi) replaced head gasket @ 300,000kms
body dissapearing but mechanically sound
daily driver
90 with a 2.2 auto. 240,000 on the motor. cracked a head around 100,000, trans went around 130,000 due to torque converter being stuck other wise ok. sine then nothings been done except normal main. no smoke or burning oil. gets better mpg then my gf's 08 focus.
good god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this thread is still going. lol that funny i havent been here for years.... yes i still have that 91 VL. the odomter broke at 174K miles that was 3 years ago. car still runs still doesnt use a whole lot of oil. going to hang on to it for a winter car!! i would guess the mileage is over 200 K now. has been an extermely reliable car. i did have the trans rebuilt 3 years ago but thats to be expected... thats allot of miles.
i have a new "baby". another 1991 cavalier but this car is a RS 3.1 convertable from florida. white leather interior, loaded. 112K on the odomter. it had allot of problems early on. had to deal with someone else crap. the O2 sensor was plugged into the temp sending unit... good grief. took me a long time to figure that one out.. it's not something i would do to car, so i wasnt expecting it. but its fixed and it runs perfectly.
big thing with the convertable is that it needs a new top. does anyone here know anything about these tops? how difficult are they to replace? i got a price from someone locally that does tops, they want $900 installed, which i am willing to pay that but if i could do it myself i would prefer to save the money.... dont know how difficult they are to do..
anyways i really did not expect this thread to still be going

June 27, 2103 - filled up and noted km's to check fuel economy. 248976.8 km and averaged 35.6 mpg and three runs from Victoria to Nanaimo and back.
1994 sunbird with the 3.1 auto 398,000 kms and no major repairs. original motor and trans. still running strong.

wow that goes to show what staying on a routine maintenance schedule can do for a car
for anybody too lazy to convert that to miles that's over 247,000 miles.
It's not the highest, but my 1993 Z24 has 187,491 miles on it.
But, I just rebuilt the 3.1 and the TH125C even though it was still running when I did!
We sold our 1994 Sunbird LE Sedan (2.0L OHC 3-speed auto) to a junkyard in January of 2013 because it was so badly rusted. It still ran great though. When they towed it away, it had 268,010 miles on the odometer.
My 90 has 700 thousand on it original engine and transmission. Still starts up every time and runs great

Thats freaking awesome man. I'm seeing all these other people that have had to get thier engines rebuilt and yada, yada at around 150,000 give or take. And damn it's disappointing. I'm unsure of the mileage on my cavi. The odo says 87,000 but I'm not sure if it's actually 87,000, 187,000, 287,000, etc. I'm thinking 187,000 because the valves and valve pan are in very good shape. Keep on racking up those miles man.
284,000 on my 90 4cyl 2.2. I had the origunal timing chain break at 282,00. When I replaced it, I found that GM made a change in the oil gallery plug above the cam gear. They added a small hole about .030 to the center of the plug. It not only sparys oil on the chain, but it also bleeds air out of the lifters after start up. After I installed it I found that it worked in reducing the amount of time that the lifters were noisy, when first starting the car.
293,000 on my Sunbird, unfortunately a timing chain break doomed the first engine at 265,000.
I had an 89' GT with the 2.8MPFI and 5-speed... got it to 357,000 before taking it off the road... Paint peeling, dash peeling door panels falling apart, exhaust rotted out, and driver seatback broke... but I rebuilt the motor (STILL HAD HONING MARKS ON CYLINDER WALLS!!) and putting it and the 5-speed in my '81 X-11.

my 92 wagon sporting a 3.1 went 335,000 before expiring.
my current ride is a 2012 equinox with 236,000 on it.
I just bought a 1994 z24 convertible with 8000 miles on it from some lady.
My 90 four door just turned over from 299,999 to 300,000.
