We've discussed this before Mark and you never got back with me on this, so I gave up on it.
Right now I can't do any funding because I'm about to spen about 3 grand on parts for the car.
But, I will get back with you on this and we'll discuss what all is entailed with making them and the materials necessary to get started.
These fender braces are the last piece of the puzzle for my chassis mods and once done, will be the last of my chassis tuning efforts for this car.
Anyway, sorry for the offtopic once more but I'm a glutton for chassis refinements which go so unnoticed by most in their quest for sheer horse power.

THIS.

I am making some of these now. I can build them on the '95 and put them on my '96

I have never thought of anything like that. Good find 'Blu!

Mastin, James wants fender braces and others want triangulaed FSTB. Both will be around $275 to make.

That's like $550 yo.
Cutting into my ho money.
lol.

My concern about the fender brace is if it has to be welded.
And the fstb is already a third of the way done.

I'll see what I can do.
I'm about to put down for a greater than 50 inch HDTV.
So we'll see what's left.

Mastin, bolt in should be the case since we're dealing with the frame rails and much thicker metal.
Three bolts should be fine for the frame rail as long as they're drilled and tapped properly.
The rest of the brace should be utilizing the existing bolts which hold the doors onto the frame.
If my rim deal doesn't go, I'll fund the fender brace with the initial purchase. I'll let you know within a week or so.

Why do people think that just because there is a modification available that they must have it?

First of all, here is a quote from one of Marks first posts in this thread.

OEM wrote:This is a Proto-Type bar. This bar is for me. The real versions will fit behind just like the factory bars.

Mark, show what the "real" version will look like then.

Half the people that will jump on this and say "OH ME ME ME ME ME ME ME I want one" have absolutely 100000% no need for it, and will say they will have money, but actually when the time comes they will back out.

I'm not bashing Mark, or OEM or any other manufacturer, I jsut hate seeing people over build a car that will NEVER see track time.

There are a few people here who track their DD all the time, and there are a few who have a purpose build car. Now for them, i agree these mods are great. But for the guy who drives his cav to work everyday, and might hit a pothole once a week, a fender brace is not needed...lol

/rant

sorry had a tough morning and after re-reading this post i was a bit perplexed at a few people

doesn't matter to me in the least just an observation I've had.

I'd rather more people want to buy stuff makes new products more likely for us.
