Unless you have a 2.2

Easiest way to return oil

Here's mine

Its still ghetto

There's got to be something else for the 2.2 guys, since I don't know the 2.2 very well, why can't you tap the pan?

It's not ghetto

Not only is it easier, it's better b/c you don't have a 90 degree bend anywhere in the return line

You take one bolt out, remove the dip stick, weld on a small half inch piece of pipe and wa-la, simple return line fitting that dumps straight back into the oil pan. No mess, less time, and no gasket and other stuff you have to replace.

Plus, I don't want to weld anything else into my new moroso oil pan

the 2.4 and eco dipstick tubes it wouldnt be abenifit to put it in the dip stick , they are to small to allow the turbo to drian fast enough

Here's mine, I cut off each end of the dipstick tube then bent 14" of conduit at the correct angle, then welded the dipstick tube ends to the conduit, fabbed the mounting brackets out of 1" wide strip metal, beadblaster and painted.

don't be a smart ass

you can not run your oil return through your dip stick

that post shows how to run your return line, I figured I'd show you it since you are new and learning how to do your turbo setup

no, I understand but Im thinking maybe with a tube swap it could work. but for that amount of work you could probably just tap the pan. still interested if anyone has tried.

Yeah, but why swap out dip sticks when you can tap the block. Hell the Eco was cast for a boost engine and has the location for it on the back of the block. Its pointless to swap tubes when you have a place ready to tap right there.

I can understand why the 2.2 guys do it I guess, but if you can do it right then do it that way even if it is a little tougher.

hmm, its an easy call to me. gm engineers designed the ecotec for boost. as you see with the Cobalt SS and the Ion Redline. I'd tap the block bro. looks like the best way to do it. A new pan gasket is what $8-$10? But, what do I know,I gots a 2.2l ohv.

Eco's don't have a pan gasket, so you'd need to buy a tube of silicone sealant or some liquid gasket stuff.
