what write up did you follow to get it installed?

Skwirl's Write Up

Found it in ecotecforum.com, pj did an awesome job, it's super easy, especially considering I already had the ignition in there. It literally took like 15min to redo the wires from the stock coils to the MSD interfaces.

All that stuff will be cleaned up during the process of putting the built motor in bud...

Thank you lol. Where exactly would you put some of the stuff?

It doesn't need to look good under there to do it's job.

Seriously though, other clean up the wires I'm really outta room under there. Any suggestions as to relocations of certain parts?

move the computer into the cabin down in the little spot under the dash and right in front of the console-theres just enough room for it. ask jason (sndsgood) about doing it.

make a bracket (similar to the one for the VCM) and bolt it to the strut tower and angle it down. mount your msd dis-2 and 2-step boxes on it.

just start shortening up wires, one at time so it doesnt seem so overwelming-take ur time and use heat strink tape. go get some cheap (stock style) wire convering and slowly start snaking it over those newly cut wires.

and your exactly right, the car was made to go fast, but dont you want it to look good to? i mean you should be proud of your engine bay when you look at it shouldnt you? your car is amazing, why skimp out on the part thats most important to you?

Everytime I start to think about moving the vcm I second guess it for one reason or another.

What exactly is a 2 step box bud, I don't have one, that other box is the cam sync generator.

As for the wires as previously mentioned, I'll be tidying that up a bit soon as the built engine is in there and I'm basically reinstalling everything. As you can see almost all my "extras" have to come off in order to pull the engine so doing that won't be too much of a hassle.

After the most recent trans mishap, I don't know if you're ever going to see good e/t's out of my car. But trap speeds and dyno, for sure. I know I'll be a little hestitant to launch the thing for a couple months at least. I always am after something breaks, I take it easy on her for a little while.

Plus, new internals + new cluth/flywheel + new just about everything else, it's gonna take a few thousand miles before I will even be able to put too much pressure on it.
