This goes to prove we are actually advancing.
I would like to see some more people play with higher compression. Ben, what octane do you have to run for that 12.5:1?

1992 Typhoon. Lots of mods.
1994 Civic VX 44MPG
well heres what i did for now:
was running punp 87 with the 8:9:1 pistons. After i installed the 12.5:1 added about 8 gallons of 93 into the tank, so that was about 5 gal 87 and 8 gal 93, went to the dyno for break in, then we poured it on, maybe it was the rings seating better cuz on one of the high 170 pulls the factory computer started pulling back timing cuz of knock, so Don and Adam decided to pull back some timing and pulled it again, so i ended the day in the mid 170's. Friday the 13th got some Sonoco 100 unleaded and going to the dyno on Sat the 14th. The higher gas and added timing with adjustable cam gears lookin for the 200 whp mark
. Thanks for the question, will keep you posted

I'd like to see a 11.5-12:1 CR that was setup for 91 octane. Definately keep us posted on how your setup turns out.

Like everyone knows that with higher compression yeilds higher octaine. I know for sure my setup will not run anything less than 100. Maybe you could get away with it with factory compression.
Thats all for now
