the gm eco charger comes with the harness that looks similar to justins drawing

but it has different plugs from the stock iat and map , so there is 2 new connector ends in the kit to work with the new harness supplied

as far as using a different map sensor , no one is sure if the 1 in the kit is 2 bar or 3 bar

i know the redlines and cobalt will read close to 20 psi on their boost gauge which reads from the stock map sensor

but there is no way of knowing YET , if gm did anything dirrerent with the sensor

the map is a 4 pin plug , kinda shaped like a football with rounder points

Not sure why you need to do all of this..... but ok.

These are all parts that come in the GM Eco S/C kit?

Is it possible the only reason they changed the sensors is because of how they mount into the S/C casing? Making it unnecessary to swap them if not using the charger?

Question #1 - These are the parts that come with the supercharger... the ones that relate to the MAP and IAT.

Question # 2 - Good Question... I will let ya know once I try it on my 02 Turbo setup. Still waiting for the parts to come in from the warehouse. Should arive any day now.

the map is the same as in the kit , and the connector end is a service replacement end to repair a damaged harness

all similar to what is in the s/c kit

the unknown issues with the t-map are the voltage values with it , so its hard to say what map or iat sensor could be used in its place

if it was know for sure that the map values were the same as the 2.4 s/c map , and the iat values were same as the stock iat , then it would be ok to use something similar

but with the tmap costing about half of the 2.4 s/c map , this is a better way to go

So I got the parts in today and I was fishing around my workbench when I spot a rubber grommet type thing sitting on top of the Master Mechanic 1997 statue's head like a silly turban....and I thought to myself "Self - doesn't that look like the size of the IAT sensor mounting hole on the Intake and I'll be damned if it doesn't look like it fits the new Sensor"

Out with the old...

In with the New...

And Whala... We have a nice snug fitting...

Even Kat-Von-D Likes It !!!

I gotta test it out when I get the reflash...

nOOb, question, but what is reflashish ? and how does it help you ?
Does it help in an N/A, and how so ? i guess were still waiting on the answer for how it works on a turbo.

the reflash wont help you n/a , is a boost program

I'm still waiting on the parts to get in. I ordered them a few days after this thread started..... still waiting. They said the sensor is on backorder with no ETA. The connector will be here today according to the tracking number.

I think once this thread was posted the warehouse sold out of them fast or something. It kind of sucks because I am ready to do it, just dont have the parts. We even have the vci number ready.

ok I know this has been asked to some extent but explain how this helps with a turbo setup. I had to ask cuse this seems to be a very nicely done presentation on what to do. Now I just want to know how it helps?

well since the stock pcm isnt set up for boost

this sets the pcm up for boost

so um yeah , that was hard to figure out

its gives you a step ahead of the fuel and timing issues that you dont have with out the reflash

with out the reflash , your on your own , with it you have some help

That's kinda what I was thinking. If it sends the same values to the ecm as any other map sensor would, then you don't need the 4 wire map (with iat) and just use the stock IAT sensor.

once i have the reflash i can test it with and without the s/c sensor and post my results.

Re: ECOTEC REFLASH solved! here w/ pics

because the stock map is 1bar , and the 1 in the s/c kit is either 2 or 3bar

and my guess is the 1 for the eco kit is more than a 2 bar map , because the ss/sc and redlines will show 18-20 psi on the stock boost gauge , which gets its signal from the pcm which reads it from the T-map

as ive said over and over , but some of you havent got that part yet , ARRRRGGGG

so as far as being able to mount the new sensor it, you just modified another rubber grommet?
please keep us updated. also what is the number for the actual reflash

Yeah, I kinda figured that.
As this is the entire point to getting the reflash.... Seeing positive pressure.

If it all works out so we don't need the 4 wire map,
we can use the same map connector and stock Iat.
Im sure aftermarket companies make 2+ bar map sensors.

Oh and the saab map sensors (there's three) one is on the I. manifold
with three wires. One is on a boost pipe with 4 wires
and the last one is probably a barometric sensor it has three wires.
Oh and they have a maf sensor too. lol
