2200 performance post
Thursday, April 06, 2006 1:06 AM
It seems as though alot of us have the 2200 ohv engines in our cars, Now these engines are not as widely embraced as the twin cam motors, but they still have some performance potential.

So i was kind of kicking around the idea of starting a post with information about the 2200s and more importantly links to places that sell parts for these engines as the vast amount of sites seem to ignore us Ohv guys completely.

to my knowledge these are some of the sites, please add any sites you know of

Slow boy has nothing for us, at least i couldnt find anything.

Winks is out of business.

Ultrarev had mostly universal parts for us.

Dont forget summit racing, jegs, nopi, carcustoms, gravana, etc.

ROFL

Midwest all you did was list sites that have parts for cavaliers. I saw few if any parts specifically for the OHV on most of those sites.

Also, there are alot of products made for the OHV, just not listed. Like crane and proform Roller rockers.

Most of the sites i listed carry at least 1 or 2 parts for the 2200, Slowboy is listed because they have a huge selection of stuff that can be used for our cars when boosting, Any of us that own Ohvs should know all about finding parts for other cars that can be used for our applications.

I basically wanted to start something for the guys with 2200s, no one seems to think they are worth anything and alot of guys dont know there are even parts made for the 2200 engine.

Apparently there are a lot of people that don't like to use the search button or read through the recent wealth of OHV info...

I'm amazed by what i'm seeing in this post, I have been a member of this site under a different name for awhile, i have owned a J for 2 years and have done endless upgrades and mods to the car myself.

The point of this post was to spark interest in the 2200s, maybe fine some companies i havent seen or read about yet and hopefully get some people thinking. Possibly create something that total newbs could look in instead of asking the same old questions about finding sites that carry stuff.

Part of the hazards of not having the most popular parts are having to hunt for 1 or 2 items, if someone finds a post of this nature it saves them time in locating parts and services.

The idea behind the statement in my profile was to gather these harder to find parts together from vendors and offer them to the J-body community at a fair price with fast friendly service.

J~
