Just something pretty simple I was thinking of doing to make others think. Taking the "L" from the rear on the trunk and getting another "S" so it would be "SS" and not "LS"??
Anyone done this??

it would be rice if your are not SS
^^^ Yup, please don't do it unless your supercharged or it will be rice as hell.
I don't know how that would be rice, I see alot of ppl doing stuff on here to their cars that is simply tasteless!

here is the reasoning
SS- stands for super sport, as in a pretty fast car
LS- i believe stands for luxury sport
so putting an SS badge on you cavalier without making it significantly faster would be like calling a mutt a thuroughbread, and then not having the papers
basically its just a way to show off, and draw attention to yourself, which is what most smart tuners do NOT want
but do it if you like, it is your car, but driving around an econobox badged an SS with get you laughed at more than laughed with
why not take off the L & the S...and add nothing? Just a thought...
SS badging off a 2000-2002 Camaro

.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Yeah, Cavaliers were never offered with the SS trim, so it's not a good idea unless you want to be called a ricer. Not even a supercharger could justify it. It would be just like a Type R badge on your car.. you would be calling it something that it is not.
1983 Camaro Z28
If it has more than 250hp then do the SS badge, it just means super sport, and with power it is a super sport. doesnt matter if it came from the factory or not. its kinda pathetic they gave the 2.4l 170hp the ss badge. it doesnt deserve it.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
here do what this guy did lol
2nd Gen Cavi Type-R FTW!!!
That badge and the sticker in the back glass HAD to add 100hp
i see a lot of cars around here (specifically domestic 4cyls) with V-tec or GS-r on them... and then theres the corolla with the cobra emblem in place of the toyota emblem...
hopefully this can make someone laugh...
if your going to try to change the way people look at your car, just debadge it all.... drop the cavalier... its funny how many people dont know what a car is without badging... then you can call it whatever you want...
my friend calls his lotus exige a cricket... jokingly
another friend calls his skyline a prelude.... jokingly
i call mine the slow car of the group... so much fun...
my friends tell people that i converted it to a RWD corvette platform.... because i totalled my vette.... never had a vette...
people will believe anything... just get creative.

theres a difference though between being reasonable and being far fetched
just cut the bottom off the L and make it an I...... swap that after the S, and call it a day....... ricer.

I was simply looking at this as something funny and easy to do...call it rice if you want. I'm sure I can pick out something on everyone's car and say "that's rice"!! My cavy is my
DAILY DRIVER,
nothing more. I wouldn't spend the money on a slow car to begin with and put a SC or turbo on it just to get to the point where others are starting from. Just thought it would be nice to be different alittle. Isn't that why we all change things on our cars? I'm very familar with what LS and SS and RS stand for and so on...and if I want to go fast I'll go home and get the my vette or the bike.
I just thought If I was behind a car like mine and seen Cavalier SS all in the same letters that looked nice I would wonder what he had done to the car? It also doesn't mean I have to floor it to show that person either! I'm all about gas mileage in the cavy!!

if your all about gas mileage, then there really is no purpose to putting an ss badge on the cav. if you've got nothing to back up such a badge, all your doing is being a poser.
Check out my build thread!
Pick out something on my car thats rice... Its all OEM panels, original Cavalier LS Badge on the trunk lid, and stock head lights, and tails
...
Ur a Douche. You have a Vette and a Bike and have a Cavalier as ur Daily...Ok I have a cavalier as my daily and i only drive my viper on the 4th saturday of every month.
Why are you even a member of this site if you are only concerned about gas??

some could say being multi colored is "rice"....not me, as i know its a project in progress (well i hope)
Some of you guys are so funny!

I'm on this board to learn more about these cars. Maybe even to buy little things to change the appearence of the car. Yes, I bought a cf emblem from a vendor for my car so call me a ricer again I guess?!! It all comes down to opinion, what some think looks good others don't!
Yes I think different colored body panels are rice. Just my OPINION, nothing more! Also having blue headlights in your car, that's rice! It's not a BMW!
Very few people on this thread simply stated "no don't do it" or something around that! I can see why there are so many members on here. Someone says something and they are flamed and bashed away.
