Do you think that a machine shop or anywhere else where there's competent people, would be able to make me a custom one, if they have a stock one for the measurements, such as the plate that connect to the engine and the other where the throttle body is and the sensor location.... I personnally suck at welding so it's why I can't TRY to do it myself.. Some people here are probably good in custom fab, so do you think that would be possible at a reasonable price????
Well, back in April there was a huge thread about people starting to dremel their intake manifolds and noticing a good difference from doing so. You can try this idea if you want. For more information, check out the following thread:
Dremeling your stock Intake Manifold
Hope this helps you out some...

Yeah I saw that post, but I'm sure I'll mess this up so I prefer to check another solution, but thanks

A simple way around that is by actually purchasing a another stock manifold and toying with it. If you mess up, you can just get rid of it and try other options. In reality, you don't need to touch your manifold cause it flows ok. GM says it's good for up to 300 HP, I think that it must flow pretty good.
You should really worry about other areas like finishing bolts ons and start working on the motor or saving up for boost.

It's just that I go step by step, I have the full exhaust setup : Header, hi-flow cat, resonator and catback, all this in 2.25". I also have a cold air intake and I wanted to finish this before starting something else...

Yeah, I understand what your saying. I don't like starting something without finishing what I was working on before. All I was saying is that the manifold wouldn't really be necessary to modify because your head and cams will only allow so much airflow to go through anyways. Making a better intake and throttle body is really preparing your head & cams to accept more air, that's why I say you should soon start to work on your motor or save for boost (whatever your plans are).

That's true but I really don't know what his plans are...I just assumed boost.

It's pricey because it's made for a car that has a full drag setup. In order to fit it on your car, you would have to push your radiator forward. Also, a 75 mm on a basic setup is OVERKILL, unless you have a full out drag car, it's not necessary.
There is 1 other option (that I can think of) which is the Venom Performance Intake Manifold. That manifold is the same style as your stock one. The only problem with that is that it's barely out and it's VERY expensive...some say not worth it, I might have to agree unless you really need a bigger manifold. Right now the price I believe is in the $900-$1000 range.

Ok so what was the verdict on porting the intake? the post is way too long and full of hate does anyone out there have the cliff notes? Fast 05 The G.M. one is VERY pricey
then you need a new throttle body too. Sorry G.M. but I don't have money falling off my tree at home. I do however have a Dremmel tool and I can get an intake for like $20.00
at the junkyard. That is right up my alley. I do know that port matching can offer good gains but I'd like to know about this without all the b.s. If anyone could tell me I'd
be greatful. Thanks.

Thanks I guess I'll give it a shot. Keep your fingers crossed for me heres hopeing for even 5hp !
