Small block chevy in a Cavalier

I recently started a full custom project on a 95 Cavalier. I am building a full frame for the car, and intend to install a 350 Chev between the fenders. Looking for any insight or suggestions from anyone who may have done a similar project.

I don't think anyone here has done it...

Question for you:

Are you trying to convert it to RWD or leave it FWD?
If FWD, what drivetrain from what car are you using?

there is no fitting it under the hood. and if you can fit it under the hood, good luck getting headers on it. the easiest v8 swap for a J I would think would be a Caddy Northstar v8, which is FWD anyways. DOHC 32 V

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

You don't think it would fit under the hood even w/ a full frame?? 350 is only a SBC, the yellow one was a 454 BBC (and blown at that ), so that's why it didn't fit. I think with the right hood (on top of the afore-mentioned full frame), one could easily fit a 350/LSx into a J. With the full frame, you would be cutting out the OE front end so you wouldn't have all that crap in the way. Add suspension for say an S-dime and you'd have good front suspension. I should try to find measurements on all that stuff; I've thought about LSx for my car - talk about a sleeper

Northstar would be nice too But you would still need to build a frame for it to handle all the power.

...Jeez, I just read the article on the ls7. what a monster of a car, and a FREAKIN VALUE at that. 65k base price...so cheaper than one of the old school vipers, faster, better looking, better braking, and better handling. 1st gear, they say, is GOOD TILL 62MPH. top speed 198. Unbelieveable.

yes, if you are gonna do all of the fabbing that is required, go ahead and do this. but my friend, all of the cash (and time...time is MONEY, I value my time at 100.00 an hour right now) it'll take to make your cavi work with any v8 and be streetable and comfortable to drive? Id say go and buy a new car..like the new z06.
