can i use the stock bolts in the ho swap on my 97 2.4? i talked to someone and the told me they used their stock bolts for the lo manifold. and since i now have the lo and the ho, which would be best to install/sell?
thanks in advance
what is is yo
yes, you can use your stock bolts if you do not use an adaptor flange. You still have to drill the necessary holes on the manifold to bolt on the head. Since you have the LOand the HO, keep and install the HO mani and sell the LO.
Chris Fontee also sells adapter plates to use.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
what use is the adaptor flange? if you have to change the bolts and it will stick out further.
im going to install my h.o very soon and was wondering about the porting should you port it to look like the head? and with vacuum hose that goes to my engine cold air intake where does it go cause i will no longer use it?
Yeah, i also have the adapter flange from Chris Fontana as well....the adapter flange converts the HO mani ports to the 2.4 Head ports.....Intake ports are different in design....HO mani is off a 2.3 Quad motor.....with that said you can still use the stock bolts but will have very little thread to work with....i would recommend getting longer bolts to use..

Here to find more info on the flange.....when i bought mine a couple months ago he said he had one left so i dont know about now
maybe someone elses can shed som light on your other questions because i am going through this same process ....mine is on for mock up purposes for charge pipes so i have not fully installed it yet....
whatever you do. Don't buy one from exploited racing
bastards still owe me 70 bucks
here is my Q witch TB would you want to use?? and do they amke a bigger TB for the HO manifold?

Ever one lives 1 page at a time, some stories are longer than others. R.I.P to one of my many best friends. Keep all the tuners safe. See you soon, Love ya man.
Not to thread jack, but....1 quick question since it kinda has to deal with this, are the HO and LO bolt patterns the same? If so, I am just going to use the LO intake, way easier to find, and still have significant gains, but I want to use the adaptor plate, so, bolt patterns need to be the same, thank you much!
Get the HO they're not that rare. And the bolt pattern is the same but you still need to drill/slot out the holes on the manifold for it to bolt up correctly
i bought the adaptor from someone else and its defferent made out of like carbon or tough plastic and might not use it. just port it to match it to the plate.
new questions if i get a egr block off plate will i throw codes? and what the benifit to blocking it off?
glad that i dont have to take the E manifold off to block it.
tough plastic?
-.-'''''
It's supposed to be like that then. it's made of Garolite I believe, is it like a reddish brown color?
yes i couldnt think of the name of it. its pretty thick is that going to help me any? or just going to have to put two gaskets. i paid 53 bucks and probly wont use it now dam.
if anything else besides matching the ports it will help to keep heat transfer down otherwise that intake manifold is going to get quite warm being bolted directly to the engine
tough plastic = Phenolic?? maybe??....it feels like plastic......maybe thats what you have...?

Why wouldnt you use it? Theres nothing wrong with the materal.
If you block off the EGR you will throw a check engine light. Theres no benifit to blocking the EGR off, but you HAVE to remove the EGR to get the HO manifold to fit.
