I drive a cavalier with a eco tec, and think i figured out an easy way around the red line on it. it seems like the automatic computer limits the feul pump instead of timing, so if i bypassed the feul pump so it didnt go through the computer would the car still have a red line??

Is this a serious question? Who's fu(king with me? Seriously? And what the hell is "feul"?

I thought they restrict spark too on newer cars.
On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.

My ecotec's redline is 7k.
However i dont think this brainaic is talking about the rev limiter, but the speed governor.

Oh, there are simpler ways then wiring a hot fuel pump.

At least this guy sort of got the correct spelling for ecotec

My 6.5k rev limit makes me feel safe.... untill I drop it into 2nd and hit the rev limit when I'm trying to cut off a mustang. That makes me feel dumb.

I got an idea...
Shift before 6.5k. You don't make power up there anyway.

I do. Well did. I'll have to redyno this year to verify, but they do say that TVS's do like the RPMs.

kinda what i was thinking. turbo and supercharged guys will make power up there. no reason for anyone else to have a reason to rev that high.

Well, usually when I make the dumb decicion to race a mustang, I'm eating a double cheeseburger, drinking a red bull, and steering with me knees... yeah I should probably think before I throttle.
