I have a black 1997 Z24 and I'm wanting to keep it clean and simple on the style. I'm thinking OEM CF Hood, Toyo Taillights, projector headlights (black or chrome) with clear corner lenses, with no badges or door guards, and a drift b/c. I'm wanting to repaint the car and I think I'm going to keep it the stock black. I like how black cars look with cf hoods. Right now I have KYB GR-2 with B&G 1.5" lowering springs. I'm wanting to get AGX struts and Ground Control Coilovers. I still have the stock 16's on the car and I'm not 100% sure if I want to stay with 16's or go with 17's. But personaly I really don't want to go over 17's. Tell me what you all think of what I want to do, and if any of you have any ideas please tell.

My car has two speeds, fast and faster.
turn it in to a 00-02 ls sport kit, head light swap get the lights painted black, get the 95-99 toyo tails and ls sport wing i think that would be nice and simple
A few things. First, to use coilovers, you're going to need D-Specs or Koni Yellows. AGXs aren't made for more than 1.5" drop. And using the GR2s is not the best idea with your current springs. The AGXs would be perfect though.
Now that that's out of the way. I tend to like the Drift kit, and going black with the CF hood would be pretty nice, but my tastes tend t ogo the Darth Vader route anyway. Rather than black or chrome heads with clear corners and bumper lenses, stick with standard clear. It's a more uniform look. Or maybe do the clears and smoke them out to blend in with the paint. As far as the wheels, I'm sure about the Z24 wheels. They look really good with stock body lines and even the TRD kit, but with the Drift the lines are so exaggerated that 17" wheels are more appropriate.
i would first of all fix your suspension to the way you like it. there is no perfect suspension set up but get that out of the way first.
second of all, before you go buying all of your products to throw on the car, get your body work out of the way if you are planning any. such as, shaving door handles or locks for that matter.
95-99 toyo tails would be sweet, i'd personally shave the trunk lock but leave your inners.
as for a hood, oem cf hood would be sweet if you decided to paint the cf with a design.
as for a kit, here's where you can really destroy your dream of a 'clean' car. rksports importfighter front end and the 2000+ ls sport kit are great kits to keep the car looking pretty stock. even though i'm partial to the type J. if you want to shell out a little extra money and buy the gravana kit, it'd make your car look pretty sweet and would keep it extremely clean. If you went that route, i'd go ahead and buy 17 or possibly even 18 inch bronze rims to go with the rest of the car. you may think it sounds weird and may not be your style but think about it and i'll guarentee, bronze rims would look sick on this car
Thanks for the ideas so far everybody. I never have really looked all that much into my suspension. But I was also looking at the Koni's with GC's. Everybody is always saying how GR-2's and lowering springs are a bad idea. I have had mine on my car for over a year now with no problems. (Cross my fingers). I was also thinking about staying with my stock headlights with clear corners, that is the setup I have now it dont look bad at all. I have had the car for close to 3 years now. Right now I have the clear corner lenses and bumper lenses, fake cf taillights ( I wish I never got), and the worst custom made cowl hood on the planet. We are talking this hood is flammer. I had a body guy fix my hood cause a truck backed into it smashing the hood. The body guy was like hey I can fix that and make something cool out of it. I was like ok cool custom work. I get the hood back and was amazed by how gay it was along with a $700.00 bill. So I got hard core ripped off I could of gotten my CF hood no problem with that money. Learned my lesson and will ask more questions next time around. Keep the ideas coming everybody!

Dude, for $700 you could've tossed in another $100 and gotten the CF hood AND a body kit. Sorry about your luck, man.
Yeah I know it sucks, I was such a loser noob then lol. Oh well what can I do about it now? I really don't care about the corner light conversion I like the stock look. Feels more agressive I think. But keeping the car black I think bronze rims might not be a bad idea. I was going to go with silver rims but have seen a few cavaliers w/ bronze rims and I like. SO I'm thinking Drift body kit, 17" bronze rims, toyo taillights, keep the stock headlights. I have clear corners but one is broken from a rock hitting it. Plus I think it would look real good with that Neon rear disc break conversion.

I have AGX'S and H&R lowering springs 1.7" drop front and rear, i couldnt ask for better handling, and the drop height is just right. No problems at all.
As far as keeping your car "clean", i couldnt agree more.
As far as kits go be real careful, as stated above, a kit can destroy the clean car look. Shop around there are quite a few kits out there. In my opinion, if you really want a purely clean look, i would go with Rksports coilover kit and slam the piss out of it, get a basic lip kit to give it a little appeal, the oem carbon hood, smooth the trunk (lock and inners) go all clear with the lights. If you can find the clear tailights i would go with those. To put the icing on the cake go with a nice set of 17's. the wheels can make or break the car. shop around.
With the RKsport coilover kit what do you mean by slam the piss out of it? And do you mean get a lip kit for the OEM Z24 b/c?

My car has two speeds, fast and faster.
Well, with the RKsport coilover kit i beleive there is a 1"-4" adjustable drop. I like my cars low. Thats what i mean by slam the piss out of it. I think if the car is low enough, using a "lip kit" gives it a smooth look. There are a few lip kits out there. I beleive wings west makes one, all it is, is an extention peice for your exsisting stock bumpers and some simple side skirts, nothing extreme. But it gives its a nice look.
Well have the Z24 stock b/c right now so I already have side skirts. Would a lip kit still fit on my front and rear bumper? And what if I just got a drift front bumper and left the rest of the body kit the Z24 body kit. Would the drift front bumper look lower and throw off the rest of the car? Or would it be even enough to still look good?

My car has two speeds, fast and faster.
I wouldnt recommend putting a front bumper on without kitting the whole car. it will look out of place. however you can mix kits. if you like certians side skirts from one kit, and the front bumper from another, and the rear bumper from another you can do it that way. In the past that had been my dilema, i couldnt find a kit i liked as a whole so what i did was front bumper- import fighter kit from andys auto sport., rk sport side skirts and rear bumper. That may also be another idea for u, sort through the kits and find the smoothest flowing peice and create your own kit.
if you get the drift body kit, id suggest 18" rims over 17" ones... for the simple fact that the drift kit tends to be the lowest sitting kit made and will make 17s look tiny.
Check out my build thread!
Well the biggest reason I like the Drift kit is because of the large open mouth in the front bumper. I'm looking for a kit that has that open mouth so later down the road I can turbo and get an intercooler. I was always told the more of the intercooler that shows the better to get max air flow. Plus the Drift looks agressive and is one of the fairly lest costly kits that I have seen. I'm not talking about ebay cheap, I hear ebay kits are junk they crack and break so easily. On the other hand if anybody has bought an ebay kit and had good sucess with it please tell me. Other wise I'm just going to stay away from ebay.
