my advice. do it at a shop. pay the extra amount so you dont have to do it again.

Check the sticky Vincent linked you to... No one here can give you an accurate idea based on facts mentioned in the sticky.

For example: by "new paintjob" do you mean "new paintjob" on your kit, whole car, do you just want the outside? Do you want the jams done too? Do you want it "perfect" or to just look "ok"? Show quality or no? Same color or color change? The type of area you live in (a paintjob in a small town might be less than a big city, etc)

Someone could say "well around here to get your car fully repainted on the outside would cost $2000"... maybe in your area the cost of living is much higher, so you'd be looking at $2500 to $3000...

Remember cheaper is not always better, do your research (I mentioned things to look for when choosing a shop in the sticky), and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Maaco is the devil for the most part... I've heard of a few people having a good experience with them, but if you care about your car's paint and want it to last for more than a year or two, I wouldn't take my chances. Think of Monroe or Meineke (or however you spell it)... usually large "chain" car places "slack off" when it comes to quality.
