Windshield wiper swap???
Thursday, June 14, 2007 6:34 PM
Has anyone swapped windshield wipers on there J's?? The one option I wish my J's had was wipers that would hinge up so when you washed the car they were in the air. My girls Saturn has them. Thought about seeing if they would work on a J. Anyone know of any that will fit right on?

on the topic of swap, is there any way to make the driver's blade go over more, because I have a line of dirt (after rain) on the side, because of the wiper...

03 CAV

(could I advance the timing on the motor/gears?

(sorry about hijacking topic)

and no, but i bet (just an idea) if you used pliers, and broke off some metal from the blade arms, where they stop and hit, they would prop up....

Get one from a scrapper, first...

Im gettin a new trunk soon, so ill try this, just steal an arm from scrapper...ill test that.

Because its there in the rain too, its about 2-3 inches wide, from the windoww molding, and its hard to see the left side.

I personally find wipers useful...

however that 3" gap where the window is NOT wiped is just plain annoying...

I like my wipers, thank you yellow22, i find them useful when it rains...

<Sarcasm>

I guess, if i dont want to see other cars, i should remove my mirrors too, eh?
Might as well remove the rear stop/tail/turn lights, As I dont see them either...
Who needs an engine too, what with all that noise of the combustion... I'll just find a nice hill i can roll down to get speed.
and speaking of speed, who needs brakes, all they do is slow you down, what with the stopping and all...
as long as we're On the topic of weight redustion, why not just cut off the roof, im sure that might save at LEAST 100 lbs, AND give you more aerodynamics, too...

Shall I continue...?

funny thing is i probally see just as good without my wipers as you do with yours and i dont have the stupid ugly things on there when its not raining. i just take care of my car and wash it and throw rain x on everyonce and awhile. but my car wash soap does the trick good enough. when i drive in the rain there is barely any water on the window and i dont have to worry about the 2-3 inch part because i know what your talking about and it use to piss me off also.

In a pouring downstorm of rain you will not see without wipers,so I guess those unsuspecting people you crash into will understand, sacrificing saftey for looks is no excuse, but it's your car do what u will

i MIGHT actually just try that...

not in heavy rain though...

and where can I get rainX, Crappy Tire? Wal-Mart-Special?

might - being the operative word...

I think its actually illigal to run without wipers in Canada-Ontario

and i checked yor profile... sick hood...

not sure but from my understanding in the past with my 91 saturn u can just take it off and rotate the wiper up more then it would reach closer towards the widow not sure if u can do that on ours but i know on most others i know you can do it . its quite simple

5 seconds to find another street...

This might sound a bit weird, but try clay-barring the windshield, I've heard it works very well in getting them super clean. A mostly used up claybar should work well, if you have one.

funny thing is i have driven my car in many types of rain and never had a problem. in a straight down pour the window is perfectly clear. sooo hmm unless you drive my car and i dont know it your the dumb@ss. and at the most if you take your wipers off carry one in the trunk so just incase it does rain and you cant see which i dont know how you wouldnt you could throw it on.

Whoa! Did I refer to you as a dumb@ss?So don't start actin' like one. I specificially said it's your car do with it as you will,I don't care what you keep on or rip off YOUR car.In MI it rains alot so it would be pointless and IMO not very safe to not have wipers.

NEVER said you can't,as said before,it's YOUR car,I can have an opinion and if it was a show car I could see someone doing that.I am done now because this is taking away from John's original post.
