do they hold up pretty well?
needs a little bit of wire tucking but you get the idea
why did you keep that big black piece by your cold air intake?
It's obviously a GM Performance Part...
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
thats one cleaned idi cover.

I just grabbed one of the cheapest intakes on ebay, and it just so happened that it connects to that box, it doesn't connect to the throttle body. never though about buying one that does, doesn't really bother me.

That sticker's there mostly to just annoy my friends.
is this right or did i sand to much off?
What I'm I looking at? The whole thing? or just the "4" and "L". The 4 and L look clean, unless that's white. But either way, When I sanded and painted mine, I just hit it with a scotch-brite pad and then spray painted it silver (not chrome).
i sanded mine down to the chrome or bare metal. the 4 and l. its alot of work to sand.
I'm not sure if what's on top of the cover is paint, and to be honest, I wasn't even sure if that cover was made out of metal in the first place. Has an almost ceramic feel to it. I suppose sanding it down to the bare metal like that is the correct way to go about it. I sure as hell didn't though and the paint stuck just fine. Engine Enamel is the best paint for everything. High heat tolerance and great adherence. I even painted my drunk brakes and front calipers with Engine Enamel over a year ago and it hasn't come off at all. If I were you I'd just sand everything so it's clean and smooth and paint it to your liking.
oh yea i was using 120 grit sand paper there heavyer sandpaper to get so it take less time.
The IDI cover is made out of aluminum.
can i sand blast my idi cover?
it wont hurt it, it will just take the crappy grey paint off of it
