have you looked more into this? im just outside of Columbus, id love to come out for a bash, never been to one. have you maybe looked into national trails dragway? its where they hold "import faceoff" twice a year, there is a huge lot for car shows and the drag strip obviously, you could even maybe set up a audio competition or something. id love to go!!!
MD, I would be willing to assist in helping with the organization of the J-Body Bash. I have served on the BOD of a National Chevrolet Club and have organized three meets before. Let me know if you need help.

The track rental fee is more than triple of what Thompson's is last I checked. Hell we could go to Summit "Norwalk" for cheaper.

Timing could not be more perfect. Just got my ol Bird up and running (after 7 years sitting), I will happily cruise down to Ohio to make this. Hell I'd take time off work to do it, been wanting to go since '05.
June 23rd-27th is the Tentative date at the moment.
The Thompson Drag Racing way is the hold up. I can not get a response back from them.

I keep track of Summit Raceway Park's (Norwalk) pretty regularly, and due to the proximity of major events in May and July, the Bader family likes to keep June open for the weekend sportsman programs. Another alternative could be Dragway 42, in West Salem, OH. They are finishing up a $10 million track renovation, and should be finished by that time as long as mother nature cooperates. I would really look into them to see if they could host the entire bash there, as well as local hotels in the area.

Well there is some movement / info on the Autocross as of last night...
James Cahill is doing 99% of the leg work, and I'm very happy he is. Since he knows far more than I do on the subject.
- It will most likely be held on a Sunday. "Maybe on Saturday,"...
- It may be held at a GM plant...if it is, it will only be for GM cars...<---Possibly no location rental fee...
- It probably will be an official event, so everyone's stuff is insured, but will be running with locals.
- We will probably have to pay the event officials.
- If you are not a member you WILL have to buy a weekend pass to partake in the fun.
I may say F-IT with Thompson, and we will just show up for regular bracket racing. They haven't even responded to me lately, about our our lane or quick 8. Their is regular racing Friday and Saturday...as of the last info I was told.
