I am very interested in this Jegs and Summit both make their own brand of coils, which are a lot cheaper than the MSDs.

Also, depending one price I will get this setup or Summit's new CD ignition Box

No im using the 2200 icm, and the wires I cut off the donor 2200. Cut my 2.4 harness that connects to the IDI cover and soldered in the 2200 wires.. Connected them to the 2200 icm and the rest is history

we're still working on getting OEM connectors, to make this a simple plug and play setup. we'll probably be using the MSD coil adapter platforms and let the buyer pick out his own coils and wires.

I'm also interested in this mod. I think that my stock 2.4l coils are giving out on me. When testing the ohms of the secondarys I get 6.88 on one and 6.99 on the other. I read some where that It should be close to 10.0 or 10,000ohms. Is this right?

Very easy mod with great results!! Cost only 130 W/ summit coils and accel wires. Really helps with starting and the engine seems to run a lot better!!

so how would i go about doin this on an ecotec?

I don't think this setup has been used on an ecotec, I believe it uses a coil on plug setup which in itself is fairly powerful.

Have any of you that done this had any issues with increased engine noise through an audio system?

Re: Interest in Team Green 2.2 Coil Conversion for the ld9

on the eco, I think you need to run the MSD Cam Sync generator...... but could be wrong......

we havnt had alot of time to work on these lately, spring comming up and all, we've been trying to finish up our own cars.

I dont think Tom's had any problems with engine noise.

I would def. be interested in a kit. I have wanted to do this for awhile, but trying to get the car running is my top priority.
