2004 ls sport 68884 miles, timing chain guide upper broke, resulting in #4 valves being burned, easy fix....other than that no problems
44K on the 03...
only 9.5k on the 04..
Which is good since I don't plan to buy another car for a while with these stupid gas prices.....
wouldn't want to own a 6 or an 8 anyway Dave the way like you said gas prices are going up you'd never be able to afford to drive it i drive a V8 at work and gas for that thing is almost $100.00 to fill it up
I've got an 02 Sunfire with the L61 and F23 trans, has 80,200 miles and nothing wrong yet. Bought an 02 Grand Am with the L61 and the auto trans, had 141,000 and the water pump locked up and broke the lower chain, I replaced all the timing and the water pump, it's got almost 150,000 on it and still running like a champ! And I don't believe in knocking on wood for luck.
Project Resurrection is in full swing!
have an 04 cavi. coupe. 80,000 miles. but noticed oil shavings in oil filter. so worried bout how long it will last now. gotta do something soon,
ECOtec DOHC
got my 04 sunfire with 37000 on it in june of 07. went from 140+ miles a day down to 60+ a day. I got 64000 on it now...no problems.
I have a little over 147,000 km on my 03 Z24 (approximately 92k miles), and it burns some oil but still runs good. I have replaced the wheel bearings (hubs), and a lower control arm (stuck bolt), and just rebuilt the F23 transmission last month. It's been a pretty reliable little car and consistently gets 650km to a tank, so I drive this car a lot more than my Trans Am.
i am at 201k miles now WOOT WOOT!!!!
^ wow
ps your sig is out of date too then
Lanman31337 -F = fatties = do not want. A little chunk in the junk is ok though.

im at 204k miles now.. still running fine....
WOOT
Well, the car i sold has only 54K on it, prob since i sold it to him with 32k on it back in Nov. That was a 02 LS Sport. But, for the people with high miles, not to scare anyone but my buddy has a 02 LS Sport with 77k on it, and HUGE engine problems on it. He snapped the timing chain, and in the process bent 12 of the 16 valves in the head. SSSOOO just a little warning that if you havent changed your timing chain and have over 100k on it, you may want to look into doing a little preventive maintence on that. From what i heard from him and a few other people that work at Chevy as Techs, those motors are natorious for snapping chains at the 70-100k range. So im not saying to go rn and do it, but hey, its a little FYI for ya. And for the motor savy guys here that know how to pull heads off, its actually very easy to change a timing chain on those cars, and even re-time the car, so a day of work and maybe 100-300 bucks for new gaskets, filter, oil, coolant, chain, and chain guides it will save you 1000+ dollars later on down the line from needing a head job, and a bunch of new valves. Just a little FYI for you guys!!! Take care and good luck!!!
98.5K on my 03 base. bought it new with 7 miles.
44,000 miles on my ecotec now in my 00 SFGT
bought new 2003 cavvy 1/2/2003....just broke 30k miles.
I guarantee they are the hardest 30k miles a car has ever seen though
lol back on page 2, i was at 20K miles....11/2004. Man i need to drive my car more
I have got 69,980 Miles!!! Almost reaching that 70k mark. On my second ICM/coil pack/plugs. Other then that the engins has ben awsome!!!! Over 200 times down the 1/4 mile with a stack of time slips to prove it! The tranny on the other hand.... 4th tranny. Have blew up all the differentials, seperated friction plate on my spec stage 2 clutch. Fun times engine is strong though!!!!!!!
im now at 210,500 miles
and shes still running strong..... god i love this motor...
