You have one, and if you can not find it, I have one that would match that pulley perfect. It is the alternator pulley design like this one. I have one still from 2005ish.
Mike,
I found my alt pulley today
Clyde, thanks for the Hybrid Ti retainers
They will go nicely with my NHRA valve springs. Manta Sports valve spring on the left, Olds NHRA valve springs on the right

How did that valve spring tool in the upper right hand corner work on the ld9 head?
I recently bought one just like it to use and was hoping it would work well.
On a side note, all these damn build threads recentky is making me wish I had more time to work on mine. Maybe ill start a thread for some comments for motivation.

I lost mine because I did not label the box it was in. I am checking all of my boxes for labels now.

This was the first cylinder head I have taken apart, but I felt it was a PIA to use. I was constantly manipulating the head and the tool so it would grab the 2nd coil on each spring. If I put it on the 3rd coil, the spring would not compress enough to loosen the retainer.
I am thinking about trying this one from MAC Tools ( part # GA317 ). I have been told this is tons easier to use

Yep, thats it Jason, the one I have. So much easier than the damn C clamp one.

I sent Brad my W41 cams to be degreed and some of my Olds valve springs to be measured. My new valve seals and getrag clutch master cylinder arrived. When Brad sends me back the parts I will finished assembling the head, then bolt it to the bottom end

Yep thats it. Put a towel under the head then wack away at each spring.

OK....I pulled the headgasket out and placed it on the cylinder head and not everything lines up. Has anyone else have to modify their SCE gasket??
Everything lines up on the block for the most part.
Are 2.3 head studs larger than 2.4's??

From a conversation I had with sce I was told that the gasket is made for either the 2.3 and 2.4 so it has holes for both. They may have based it off the 96-99 head and not the 00+. I'm not sure if many.or even any of the cooling and oiling ports changed but I know felpro lists 2 different gaskets.
Looking at your pictures it doesn't look like it blocks anything that should flow between the block and head. The one port on the lower left looks like it overlaps the hole a little and it seemed to line up on the block fine.
I personally would probably run it and not think twice.
I would let others chime in as well though.
Builds looking good. Its great motivation to get me working on mine.

Ok weird, what year is the head and what year is the block?

Hm, Isnt that your issue then?
I remember when I got my engine built in 09 I was going to use a 97 block with my 00+ head and 00+ cometic, dropped it off at the machine shop and they told me the gasket doesnt match the 97 block. I went up there, it didnt match. Thats when I had to go find a 00+ block to match my gasket. Perfect match now.
