Great job.....to dig deep both into your pockets as well to dig deep and do it on the street like that is not only brave but it just goes to show what kind of work you could do in a shop....
Mad Props man....

although whats with the super clean motor, and the super dirty tranny? lol.
lol, yeah, i didn't have time to go wash it before i install, i was kinda in a rushin the last week of the swap...
Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but why does everyone who did the 2.3L oil pump swap has a square written in sharpie marker on the end of the windage tray?

Thats a good question...I was wondering that myself. Did this thing ever get to see the Dyno?
she will see the dyno but not right now, probably this summer...
the square is because you have to hammer it there so the oil pan fit.
Way to get $hit done. excellent work. I wish I had that kind of ambition. again, nice work and keep it up.

lol...and we thought it was old in March? Sounds like a nice swap. How abouts we get all the pics reupped?
And some damn dyno numbers!!!! my god, a year with all that power with no record breakingness!! lol
sorry guys, i took the pics off so i could post pics of my paint job.
i'll try to up them back this evening. as for dyno numbers, well... the car went to storage last winter, then to the paint job at begining of summer, then i had some engine problem (not the right head gasket and some weird crank problem). and now the car is back to storage and i will redo the engine this winter and be ready to git the dyno as soon as it get out of storage. i just cant wait....
...........boooo..
i'm just kiddin, LD9's are a bitch. timing this, head gasket that....
man do i ever wish they were built like a tank just like those 90 DSM's
total sarcasm..
well... i dunno why, but when i upped the pics of my paint job, i deleted the engine pics and dont have them anymore....
anyone saved them?
i still can take pics of the power steering bracket if needed, its in a box somewhere.
I'll take pics again when i'll rebuilt the engine again this winter
Wrong head gasket? Please enlighten.
yeah, i used the 2.4 gasket and with the 086, you need to use the 2.3 one since the 2.4 bore are too small hence, in the combustion chamber. but now you can get the cometic 2.4 in 2.3 bore size. i will install the cometic this time.
So you can get a 92mm bore diameter from Cometic??? If I were to use one of those I would of course have to take it apart and use sealer to make it not leak coolant before 250 miles.
yep, i got a 93mm bore! they say to not use any sealer with their gasket. you dont take these apart.
The hell I dont. Only way I could get the last 2 to seal. No sealer and they leaked by 250 miles. Came from between the layers due to a problem with the finish on the inner sealing surfaces.
get those pictures back up!
Blew it up, build numbers coming soon
