That's a good point, let's go ahead and start one here shortly if everyone thinks it's worth it.
if anyone wonders why the exhaust ports look oddly shaped, its becasue i had it ported to match the pacesetter header and as you know the ports are larger on the header but still dont match perfict. So porting it to the pacesetter gasket instead of oem made more sence.
Uh-oh, another double-roller chain. Did you manage to track down the guide (not the tensioner, the guide)?
Also, there's a guy in the boost forum that posted up top-end fuel problem that lists a heavily-built motor in his profile...maybe he'll be able to put down some nice #s with the super60.

all i have is the chain, no guide
im hoping th stock guide and tensioner will work. Im about 99% sure the tensioner is fine. got a pic of the guide?

Here's where I'm at. The engine is almost built. Balanced and ground rotating ass'y. PnP. 3 angle. haltech EMS, spec stage 3 clutch, isuzu impulse diff gears, team green lsd, eagle h-beams, wiseco pistons 8:1(+.020"), Si stainless valves, arp headstuds, arp mainstuds, top feed conversion, siemens 72# injectors, haltech boost controller, aeromotive adj. fpr, and more.
oh yea.. t3 .48 a/r exhaust, 60 trim comp. 2.5" piping all around... blah.
stock guide and tensioner WILL NOT work, don't even try. You have to use the 1.8L tensioner. One hole mounts to the top of the front main cap, the other needs a hole to be drilled and tapped on the front of the engine under the timing cover.
I picked up the tensioner from Checker, but can't figure out where to get the guide. There is a picture in the GM build guide (tensioner = big one; guide = small one)

One guy in my area has spent almost 30k on his engine and a big turbo (forged everything, 1100 $ axles, aem ems (that's about 2500 $). Didn't get the chance to speak to him lately, but he's probablly around 350-400 whp.

Wow, solid Ti engine or something?
I guess it really hits when you end up paying someone else to do it all for you...Also, a medium T04E compressor is capable of that power, and it can go through a .63 T3 turbine no problem, so he'd be hurting himself with a big turbo.

im not even sure im gonna need the double roller for my setup, ill sell it to the first taker for 20$
slowolej wrote:I can find the guide, but not the tensioner. I think we can help each other out.
Haha. Tensioner is Clevite part# 95137 listed as 'belt tensioner' $23.99 from Checker Auto (checker part PA 7441298).

30K on a engine and turbo set up
?
275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv
13.2 @ 108 mph
-1996 2.4 liter + Turbo + Built motor + Torco + More boost = Lots o' Power
-2000 Mustang GT + 2004 Cobra motor, Whipple 2.3 supercharger,
built rear-end,Dodge Viper spec T56 6 speed, bolt-ons = wheelies at the track!!!!!
lookin good guys I can't wait to see some of these cars in videos or pictures... (get some god damn cameras to the tracks will you?!)
I'm kinda sorry to say that me n the skwirl are swapping to ecotec, but I've had nothing but problems since day 1 with my OHV and its time to try something else
my best (not like its great) was 115hp and 131tq at the wheels. 15.7 @ 86mph
exhaust, intake, ported head.
I was happy with it while it lasted but my dumb ass + some bad luck = blown lifters in every cylinder (I think at least)
I may have turned to the dark side but you guys get respect from me I still got <3 for the OHV
anyone wanna buy mine for a back up incase theirs blows up? (and jay doesn't want it
)

30K on a engine and turbo set up ?
Yeah I'll try to get a hold of him, because I think he finished the project this summer. When I went to the turbo shop doing his setup, they said they were finishing the tuning of his aem standalone, and I saw him once on the highway soon after.

you punks get some pics up!
ey, you guys think ill be ok to use stock replacement lifters?
Phlatcav wrote:ey, you guys think ill be ok to use stock replacement lifters?
Depends what you want to do. I remember the blue/yellow built second gen (juicedZ?) had lifter problems, but it may have been something else that caused it. If you're going to be revving the crap out of it, or even running stiffer valve springs, you may want to look into solid lifters. But, for stock springs, the stock replacements should be okay. I have some new Melling replacements if you need some.

dont get replacement lifters, upgrade em somehow aaron
thats what killed the skwirl (lifter death)
at least I think anyway...
86svo wrote:hey jamal, if everything goes right, at the end of the summer next year we should go to the track, I'll have all my stuff done, just hope the traction will be there. expecting to be in the 250-300 whp range.
That's a deal man! Car should be back from seattle by then for sure and hopefully I don't go trade it off for a Cobalt SS non s/c'ed/ (s/c'ers can suck it)
I think the only two goals I can come up with now would be getting up to 270+hp or to just get big power out of a minimum build. I don't want to invest tons into a 2200 for 300hp ya know. That's the reason I went nitrous instead of the turbo I've been dreaming about.
Time shall tell!
N2O + Bolt-ons
= 220Hp/
250Tq
Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
yea ill have to upgrade, i have the JBP valvespring so they may be a bit stiffer.
HI guys well all i have to do is get mine dyno tuned and i tell you some numbers soon i got to make an appointment this week. Im going to tune it at 12psi hoping to be close to 300 i hope.
