Old short block is for sale, cylinder walls have zero damage, could replace the pistons and have a fine bottom end, or just the 1 piston. 75$
Shoot me a price... I may be interested

Why is the clutch allignment tool in while pulling the motor out?
looks like the one with the valve cover is the new engine going in.
Phil text me details one whats left on it. My cusion will buy for his build
Phil and Jay are on their way home. The engine is in, all buttoned down and runs. We flashed a basically stock tune back on the car (with some obvious modification for boost), and adjusted the port fcker a bit, and it idles like it was meant to be! After what seemed like a very short warm up, it settled in to the commanded 1000rpm idle and just sat there and loped happily
Jay and/or Phil will post up a vid when the get home i'm sure. They also have more pics of the trigger wheel and sensor mounting. I'll say with no arrogance intended, that the CKP sensor mounting turned out perfect on this one
We had a snag - a shot turbo drain flange gasket. It leaked pretty bad and we didn't want to chance running it. As soon as the new gasket is in, we'll get her replaced and start some real tuning
. I had a blast and it was great to have everyone over to chill/work/drink/bs ect.
Awesome work guys ! Yeah it idled like poo on start up lol

Good work guys! Wish i couldve been there! Glad i could help out phil
Uploading to UTUBE as we speak.
It's absolutely orgasmic. I love it. SO MUCH.
I stand corrected! The idle didnt sound that good on my phone
Its probably been brought up before but have you guys ever thought of doing some sort of a shield over the ext crank wheel and trigger?
Should be easy enough to bolt a skid plate to the bottom of the oil pan and bend it up?

"IF" you have all the stock plastics down there, it's pretty well protected from the bottom. The CKP sensor works by magnetism, so it remains to be seen how weather friendly it is. Depending who gets to drive in the rain and/or snow first, Phil or me, we'll see how it holds up. Personally, i don't think it will be a problem.
Good good. Id just be concerned about stuff getting caked with grease and dirt etc etc. I guess the tolerance is pretty tight too.
It's not bad, but we got the sensor lined up PERFECTLY on Phils (by some miracle)
sounds good. i thought the 2.4 bottom end would change the way it sounds but it sounds identical to mine.
i too would look for a way to shield it too. just to be safe.
