Also Double Z has just gotten the go ahead on another 3800 swap into a 98 cavalier. It should be ready to go for this summer. That will make two of us crusing around Nova Scotia.
It really all depends on what kind of deals you can get on the parts and labour. If you are paying full retail and full labour rates on everything you can count on at least $10,000.
good work. personally, i'd have a tubular k member made.

i am doing something similar to my v6 stang. i am getting an m90 roots to fit on my stock 3.8. i went through most of the pages but didn't see any track/dyno numbers. i wouldn't hope for more than 200whp/250wtq from my experience with blowers.

also, why on earth are you wanting to spray on the motor, anything over a small 35 shot (which still is dangerous) will blow your motor. if you are serious about spraying on this motor, do yourself a favor and learn more before you blower your motor.
Is this guy serious? I don't know raven that well but I've read through this whole thread atleast 3 times fully and didn't just skim through. I've seen his work and read his post. He knows his @!#$.
for the record i congratulated raven and was not negative, just asking and talking.

if you want to hate on me or anything else, don't sidetrack the thread. IM me at V6PowerStang00 if you want to talk @!#$. i do know ford 3.8's and know some about GM 3.8's. i also know my blowers. don't hate on people's car's either, it's not nice. plus people that live in glass houses, or a slower, crappier car, shouldn't throw stones. i've never flamed anyone on this site, only tried to help and i get these kids trying to one-up me.
BUo1, while I dont agree with the comments made by "tire" about spraying. the comment you made about not having the common sense to buy a real stang....well, it could be the same as you guys with your j bodies, you wanna take something insanely slow and make it fast. Instead of putting a supercharged 3.8 in your malibu, why dont you have the common sense to buy a real one, like late 60's or into the 70's with a V8...see this could be argued all day, all month etc...stop bullshitting on V6 Pony Cars when as slow as they may be, the newer ones will beat any stock j bodies or malibu...I am not dissing your cars, I love jsut about everything GM has ever made....simply stating dont say somebody should by a real car when the one you drive has 115 hp (not exact figure...sorry.....and yes...my car does weight 500 more pounds..so get that out of your system)
I Agree with the Mullet man. But major props to Raven, and I have no doubt that his 3800 will handle the spray no problem. Just out of curiosity TIRE, why did ya join the Jbody if your a FORD man, No offense against Ford or any American made car.

Well first off, a new tubular sub-frame was made for this setup. As far as dyno numbers, well we will have to just wait and see what the dyno says. I can say for sure it will be much higher than the numbers you have quoted as it produces those kinds of numbers stock.

Now about the nitrous setup, the GM 3800 will handle a 150 shot all day long. I have done lots of research and talked to many people who have and are running this setup. There are plenty of people who have been running a 150 shot with no problems at all. The only thing it will do is strip the teflon coating off the rotors over time, but that really doesn't matter to me because next winter it will either be upgraded to an MP112 blower (mustang cobra blower) or converted over to turbo.

As for learning more before I blow my motor..... I think you should do some research on the GM L67 motor (supercharged 3800) before making statements about what it will and will not do. I have no idea about the 3.8 that Ford makes and I will not pretend that I do. I do know the strengths and weaknesses of GM's L67 and I'm not too concerned about blowing it up....at least not with this setup anyway.

The car goes to the exhaust shop this thursday so the time for showing just what this setup will do is just around the corner.
Have fun with it and let me know how it goes
i apologize for coming off the way i did raven! i'm not sure what i was thinking... i have heard what i've heard about n2o + your new motor, and it hasn't been good, but i'll recind (sp?) any comments in case they come across rude.

i didn't see the tube k member... just the one you bent, which looked weak enough as it was.

the m90 roots does not route just like the m112, i would suggest going twinscrew (autorotor), whipple, or a quality blower if you are oging to do this "right" and going to build the v6. if it's stock, the m90 should definitely be fine. it's just that if youa re upgrading, why stick witha roots... the twinscrews are just so much better. right now im' looking at a m90 and a 1.7 AR twinscrew and man, even the differences are obvious just from a casual first glance besides IAT's and dynoed power. however, the 112 will lower boost and up power, which is great, and reduce AIT. i guess if you get one for cheap, it'd be ok.
