the IAT is easy man. Just go get the Camaro screw in one. That's the one I've been using since June. Never had an issue with it. Just drill, tap, insert.

Just called in and its whats known as a ship direct part. Meaning its coming directlt from the manufacturer and GM is only the middle man. Unfortunatly it also says there is currently no stock available. Meaning GM kept there word as to its release date but that its not there fault if there are none to but yet.

Basicly it means you can go order it now but who knows when you'll get it. But one day you will. Kinda like the GM performance parts cam kits for the ECO they have been for sale for 3 years but when you try to order them they come up as ship direct no stock available so you still can't get them.

Its a step in the right direction just don't think your gonna get one in a few days. Weeks to months is more like it. So hurry up go buy one and then sit back and wait for your phone call.

Hey DHGBullit,

Why are you wasting your money on a Ford Mustang and the Kenne Bell supercharger.

You should have just bought a LS1 or even an LS2, my heads and cam Z28 with 180 shot NXL kit whip up on 11second mustangs weekendly and the most I ever paid for all my mods was 3 grand and not 6 plus.

Well I ordered and cancelled mine on the same day. Ship date as about the middle of February for the SC, but, here is the kicker, the manifold DOES NOT COME WITH THE INTERCOOLER PARTS! That is right the Cobalt and Redline have the intercooler there, but the SC kit does not have the internal parts for the intercooler on the car, anyone want to guess how much those four little radiators will cost (i now know)? That doesn't include the pump, bracket exterior cooler, etc.

Looking for a redline/ss engine and will get the reflash on my own...

I call Pace and Scoggin Dickeys and they say that GM hasn't released it yet and call back in 2 weeks.

Well I just did some looking and getting together the prices for you guys. The intercooled intake is about $500.00 And then theres the radiator for it and the brackets
they equal about another $400.00. Thats not counting the pump or hoses. But those you should be able to fab up. Me, I'm still gonna get the kit and then just buy the new intake manifold and rad and fab up all the other stuff I need. i figure for about a grand
over the kits price it can be intercooled. Then I'll get the Cobalt SS stage 2 kit on top of that. That should about do it.

NEWSFLASH : NO ONE CARES.

Its his car , his money , his preference , and your opinion on his car means nothing to him. So just get off you petistol and help the thread and stop gloating about your super fast z28.

Back to the thread ...

Is there anyway to know if this kit is intercooled , or will have an intercooled package or upgrade?

GM is leaving us out here to dry .

all you need is a pump , can be bought reasonable , doesnt need to be the GM pump

and a heat exchanger , can be bought off ebay , sometimes you might get lucky and find a cobra or lightning 1

check with the places that sell stuff for the gtp's , they do sell parts needed to make the intercooler work

I wouldn't say hanging us out to dry so much as they don't want to offer a bolt on kit to be able to smoke a Cobalt SS. I think this is the reason why its not the same stuff. But you can buy the intake and all the stuff and install it yourself. I know it sucks tho.

You will also need the inetercooler parts that go inside the intake manifold. I went to the parts department, the Cobalt manifold (same part number as in the GM build book) sells those parts as a separate part. along with the o-rings and the the replacement gasket you will need when you remove the side from the manifold.

This follows the plan that GM discussed at the Bash as well.

I think that beating a Cobalt SS is very doable with the kit they supply, if it is stock. You are looking at a 60 horsepower boost from stock without the intercoolers on the stock exhaust. This should be (on a couple hundred lbs lighter car) make it a crap shoot with the biggest thing being driver skill.

Add the exhaust and the intake and you are set, and very comeptitive as well, you spend the extra grand on the manifold cores, the pump, the front mount intercooler, the piping etc and it should be up and over 230 wHP based off of the information supplied by Airtonics, then add a stage kit (if they will do a second reflash on the ecu) and it can go higher.

Can I now say I told you so???

Like I said yesterday Paul, my garage is open for an extra engine if you need a place to store it.

its cheaper to get the intercooler cores and put them in the intake the kit suppies

The intercooler cores from a Cobalt ARE NOT sold seperatly they only come with the manifold. I already looked at work to see if this may be an option. Unfortunatly you must buy the whole manifold to get the intercooler cores.

Sorry.

thats a raping in my opinion. even if it is a little above 3grand. Turbo is the way to go for major power and reliability hahns kit is kick ass they use quality components a manifold with a 3 year warranty and simple fuel management. The only benefit to the supercharger kit will be the map sensor/reflash. If i had the money like that to drop for minimal boost i would because i love hte whine of a supercharger but turbo can just produce so much more boost. And im pretty sure after hypsy gets his head done he will hit twelves on lower boost but knowing him he will keep that boost and run a lower 12

sorry but for reliability I would never say that any turbo kit is more reliable than GM's charger. more power yes, but not more reliable. How many posts do we see from people with the 2.4 s/c having problems ? I'm talking with the stock kit, standard pulley and such ? I don't see much of them, while for Hahn's kit (even if it is the best kit and is pretty reliable) we see issues pretty regularly (minor issues but some are bigger). There might not be a big diffeence but GM's charger is still more reliable.

I'm with Dante on this one 100% . Turbos can make more power true but the headaches you go thru with them rule them out with me. Think I'm kidding go ask Adam who its going with his car right now. Sure maybe his will be faster then mine one day but right now it can't even run ! Sorry but I'll stick with a supercharger made by the car manufacturer over a cobbled together turbo kit any day. Besides that turbos hold so much more heat under the hood of the car its ridiculous and then its mounted directly next to the fuel lines? Um, no thanks! I love the fact that I can get in my car and go where ever when ever with no issues and an after-market turbo kit just can't offer that kind of reliability sorry. Now I know some people here have an ABC or XYZ turbo kit
and its been great but I just hear more horror stories about them then I ever do about the GM supercharger kits. And to me that piece of mind IS worth the extra money.

I've had my s/c on the car for quite some time.... All I've done is change the oil. That's the one thing I really like over this setup than the turbo setup I had on the sunfire. I was regularily having issues.

I do a ton of driving, it's nice to have a setup you can depend on. Although a well done turbo setup should yield decent reliability as well. I'm sure if I did another turbo setup, I've learned from mistakes I made on the sunfire and could resolve the majority of them.

Someone just get this already....

that's kind of expensive....I rather pay $3200 for a brand new complete 2.0 Supercharged crate engine from GM...which is what they cost...
