*****RSM SUPERCHARGER REFLASH - EXPOSED********

So in trying to do some work with HP tuners and talking with Shifted he compared my "rsm reflashed" pcm file with that of a stock 02 ecotec. I was expecting to see some differences and find out what it is that they actually do to the pcm for fuel management.

This may come as a suprise to some of you, but given recent events maybe not at all. It turns out that my PCM file is EXACTLY the same as a stock one, there are no differences, none at all. I'm not exactly sure if I want to try to take some action against them legally, I'm not even sure that I could being that its a year old and in a different country and all. All along in the back of my mind I suspected this but I didnt think even they had the balls to pull something like this. All this time I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking that the reflash alone with just stock injectors was poor but in reality they are expecting a stock fuel system to support 7psi.

And you expected elsewise? RSM has always been a bunch of liers and cheats. They never thought tuning software would come about so they figured they could get away with this. Sue their asses for whatever they have left.

I have said this for years - they didn't flash a damn thing. I'm glad its proven now... too bad it's too late.... they are basically gone. Nelsn was spotted changing tires at Canadian Tire a month ago by a friend of mine.

How sad - supported by GM all the way down to tire monkey.

That's too good for him, at best.

And to think I had considered sending them my PCM a few years ago... glad I didn't now...

Wow - Go after them for all their worth. What a bunch of disrespectful businessmen!

This is the same thing that happened in the Saturn market for ECM's. JET was selling "performance reflashed ECMs" for Saturn SC2's, and when someone finally took the time to analyze it, they were nothing but stock ECMs with JET stickers on the case.

lol i think if you could get a bunch of people who also got ripped off together, and contact a lawyer, then MAYBE you'd have a shot for a class action lawsuit of some kind... but alone, suing them for $300 isn't even going to pay the retainer fee for the lawyer, much less whatever other legal cost are incurred by trying to sue someone in another country.... I suppose you could jack up the cost of your suit for dyno time, money spent on other things to try and get it to run right, but in the end, it'll be years gone by before you even have a SHOT at seeing any money. Plus, if they're out of business and changing tires for a living now, they probably don't have much left to sue them for anyway.

I think to prove this completely true we need to see more than one reflashed computer. I'm not saying they do do it, just saying. One computer does not make them lairs. Could have been a issue and they thought they reflashed yours and did not. This for sure explains the issues you have had with your car. Hopefully we can see some other computers, maybe some 2.4 ones they did.

Do you really want to buy parts from a company that charges $300 for nothing under the guise of we have modified a very important part of your fuel system and then doesn't?

You can buy one of their "62MM" throttle bodies that was recently measured by another shop at 58mm.

Also, you have to think of this...
They are selling this reflash of theirs for boosted cars... Boosted cars need more fuel under boost, controlled fuel. They are not getting it, therefor could cause serious damage to the engines. Obviously they didnt care about that either.

Good work Matt. Makes me glad I ran the FMU from day one.Have you talked or emailed Zsolt at RSM about this? I think that if this is true we should sue them.Even better we should all go to RSM and help them sample all aspects of the free Canadian health care system! So did you use the HP Tuners and re flash your PCM? I am going to buy one as soon as they are done with the beta testing.I hope there will be a group purchase here for it.
