He may be a nice guy and all, but he's a little expensive when it comes to parts.
Scott I dont care much about what I have in the car, lol, only thing kept was heater, ducts for hear, and wires for NECESSITIES, couldnt care less about the rest of the stuff, I rarely use my car anymore lol

did you ever ride in the freak? no? then how would you know if it was slow? it destroys all other 2.2/2200's and it keeps with a good chunk of 2.4's and most cobalts/pursuits I come in contact with.
JBO Stickers are back!!!! Click Me!!
actually I did ride in it lol, so HA, Brian you want better mileage go get the 2.2 coil conversion

unless you have something other than a cav I can almost say I have worse with my gm crapflash, and scotts cavy is probably pretty thirsty when he spools up

V6. Your 4 banger will make it way further. The Corolla will go forever on a tank, especially with the intake (doesn't rev so high on hills) I've managed just over 850 km on a tank wit hit. The Z24, on the other hand, is rated at 19 MPG city and 28 highway.

well if you get less than 250 km's to a full tank fuel you have my 4banger beat for @!#$ty gas mileage (thats on the highway doing 110-120)

I got you all beat in the @!#$ty gas mileage dept...lol...my '69 chevy pickup with the SBC 327 V8 under the hood gets about 12 mpg city and 10 mpg highway with the 3 speed automatic and no OD and 4.56 "racing gears"...lol its a beast
On the other hand my Z24 is pretty good on gas for pushing 265,000 km...I get just over 500 km to a full tank and average about 20 mpg city and 30 highway with I/H/E

How are you getting less highway mileage?
2010 Honda Fit LX
Probably because he has some mean 4.56 gears in his rear end and a 3 speed with no over drive... the thing is probably screaming doing 110 kmh (i'd guess around 3500-4500 rpms)

Bang on! ...my speedo is in MPH too...so doing 70 mph im cruising at about 3700-3850 rpms...ive maxed out my 100 mph speedo but I was pretty much redlining my engine...I just wanted to see if it'd do it
But I gotta say one thing...those mean 4.56 gears in my rear end are fun off the line...lol

Needs a real (manual) trans in it. Better mileage and more fun!

My '69 C/10 actually had an inline 6 and "3 on the tree" manual tranny orginally when I bought it about 13+ years ago. I swapped the 327 V8 and 3 speed automatic into it myself. I wanted a 700R4 for the overdrive, but it was a couple inches longer than the TH-350 tranny. So I wudda needed to replace my 2-piece driveshaft as well. I could get slightly better gas mileage if I swapped out the rear gears for say 3.73's at the lowest, but why when my Z24 is my daily driver and my truck is just my cruiser/show truck.
And believe me when I say that it is fun to drive!
...& turns heads everywhere I go lol
ntm...its now also a show winner as of this year

It's a clean truck. I don't know why, but I always liked the way tires with white writing on them look. I would think the sound of the engine would give it more presence than a JPG does, though.
Btw, anyone have a 5 speed for a gen 2 V6 lying around? Mine has problems.
