2000 Z24 just rolled over to 70,000 have a check engine light, have a humming sound some were in the front end, eats gas, replaced the coil housing at 58,000, performance wise its got a short ram intake, magnaflow dual exaust, carbon fiber hood with blue l.e.d.'s in all four vents, and crossed driled and slotted roters and it shuts up those fully tuned that dont have the turbos honda civics.i wasted 2 of them last night three wide!
96km. NOT a single problem except my @!#$ camber mounts completely wore OUT, I mean no grease, the bearings were rusted so badly they looked deformed, the pecie was msothered in rust, it looked.. NOT a single engine prblem so far.
(I keep her up,k did all the big changes coming up on 100km, such as spark plugs, new fuel filter, new belts etc, as a safe measure. All fluids = fully syntetic as well. Runs like a champ.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
i killed mine @ 186,500 kms.........looks like i cracked or dropped a valve.....No problems up untill she let go.....
101,800 miles. Original water pump still works fine - just changed the coolant for the first time.
My '99 droptop is currently reading 140216 on the odom. Replaced the alternator a few months ago.
A few mechanical problems were straightened out shortly after I purchased the car new in '99, i.e., leaking gas tank (THAT was scary!), a pesky check engine light, 2 tail light sockets frying, glove compartment latch falling apart, window control switch and a muffler hanger.
Over time, inspite of a cover, the dash cracked in two places (now hidden under a Dash Mat) and all of the vent fins have warped as has some interior molding. Cheap GM plastic parts.
The Cav is primarily my work car. I have a '93 Vette, so I don't stress the cheapness of the Cav's plastic and cloth parts.
Inspite of the mileage, my little droptop is still zippin' right along.
102,750 miles on my 2000 LS. I'm running M1EP 5w-30.
I just got 34 mpg on my last trip.
Tires are almost at 70,000 miles and will need replacing.
New coolant and new fuel filter. Factory battery just crapped out.
Needs new strut tower bearings but that is about all.
These are great cars, I really like mine.
My 1999 Z24 has 104,000 and still running strong!

I have 110,000 on my car 97 2.4 liter and when i took it to the track i ran a 15.5....since i bought the car when it had 97,000 on it i have since had to replace the air compressor, alternator, water pump, timing chain, gaskets n belts..... n now it runs great np at all.Water pump cost me $800 to install since its located in the back of the motor where most likely u cant get to it without a lift, but yea it runs like new now.
89,000 miles on my '00.
Engine is in great shape, although citty mileage is a bit low (about 25 average), while highway is high (33 average)
Goodbye Callisto & Skaši, Hello Ishara:
2022 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD
The only thing every single person from every single walk of life on earth can truly say
they have in common is that their country is run by a bunch of fargin iceholes.
I have a 98 Z24 with just over 175,000 kms on it. No problems what so ever. Original motor, trans, clutch, water pump and everything. No leaks through the motor, and well I just change the oil regularily and thats it.
60,000 miles on my 95 2.3 . Just oil , filter and coolant changes no repair work. I know it's not a 2.4 and I don't care.
74,xxx on 99 Cav Z24 drop top...... ~ bought it in 2000... with bout 18 k on it ~
105,000 miles on my 2000 LS. No engine problems so far.
107,000 and running good.
82,000 on my 97 LS..
Had the water pump replaced several years ago and the two front window motors have been replaced.. Other than that I've had no issues.. Runs great and it's the longest I've ever owned a car, I love it that much.. I bought it new with 12 miles on it.
Gets good gas milage and hauls ass when I want it too... Has had a K&N for the last 8 years of so. Just put a Hellwig swaybar and controlFX tie bar on the back, looking to do the cross bar in the front and maybe some strut tower braces.. It handles pretty good now.
I'll think about exhaust and intake mods after I'm done witht he suspension.. It will be a total sleeper, looks bone stock and will stay that way.

i have 175,000 km on my 2000 ls.... and im working on my 3rd motor.... thank god for extended warranties.... all cost me only 100 bucks.... other than that, things work ok, got an optima red top, kick ass stereo, and like most of you.... that damn pesky check engine light on again.... o well... its still running so thats good
86k, had to replace all of my injectors cause someone poured somethin in my gas tank. *Buy a locking gas cap*
40k on my 2001. still pretty okay. knock on wood
Mine is a 2001 Cavalier, Z24, Engine was repaired(2 crank bearings turned at 75xxxkm), and again at 125xxxkm. First time was under warranty, 2nd time I replaced the engine. I'm planning to fix the original for *the next time*.
Anyone else having this problem, turning bearings in the crank? I assume it's to lack of oil in the crankcase under excessive cornering to the left, when under acceleration. I may have a remedy for that, find out in the spring .
