i have 115,000 miles on my 4 door LS 2.4, it sees and oil change about every 2500 miles or 2 months, it sees about 22 mpg (lots of city driving) but sees 6k rpms everyday. no noise, except for a/c compressor chatter, no leaks. have only had it about 14 months and only thing that actually sidelined it was a blown power steering hose, plugged cat, and bad feul pump. now thw computer had gotten wet and sorted out about 2 years ago according to my family who i got it from but it has since been replaced. good little car and hope it sees many more miles.
ha! i have an 01' with 84,000 and a spun rod bearing. time for an eco...
266,000 kms or something like 166,000 miles on my 98
I've got 137,200 miles on my '95 but it's a 2.3' if that counts
It beats a Honda!
i HAD a 1996 cavvy z24 2.4L quad four... i rolled up on 196k and the engine blew... i'm a certifed mechanic... i kept my oil changed... i did everything i could from keeping that car from blowing up... the quad fours are just poorly manufactured... but now... you can by aftermarket quad fours that are better manufactured.....
My 1998 z24 has 64000 on it, never had any problems with it, all mods done by my self and my cuzin, and im luvin it
230000 kilometers then it dies (conenctor rod bearing)
new one about 2k
I just replaced the motor in my '99 Z24 with another '99 2.4. The original had 117,000 miles on it, a stripped oil drain plug, a bad oil pan gasket and a blown rear main seal. Never leaked oil, but the engine had metal shavings in it.
The motor installed had 96,000 miles on it when I bought it. Engine runs smooth. Currently has close to 10,000 more miles added to it. (Odometer reads 126, and change.)
I heard during the process of engine swapping my car, that the 2.4's like to blow up internally without warning. I can only expect that I will be due for another engine replacement within 40,000 more miles. How you guys get away with turboing a 2.4 without it imploding on itself is beyond me. I hear you HAVE to baby these engines.
I personally, am NOT easy on the cars I drive. I drive long distances, constantly, and like to be ahead of the pack, so that if there IS an accident, it'll happen BEHIND me.
My original motor was GREAT for three years. Never had a problem with it. Now that I've replaced it, I have no heat, and a Code P0440 (EVAP Emission Control System Malfunction). I've also replaced the Alternator 4 times in one weekend and also replaced the battery in the same weekend.
Personally, the car is working it's way to my bad side. It's my daily driver, as my 2 Buicks are seasonal cars. The TRD look is what drives me to keep the car. Engine maintenance is ALWAYS a hassle, but the rest of the car seems easy to work on.

Just over 2 years now....up past 103K, no problems yet.
100,345k on my 2000 Z24 never had any issues yet
76,000 on my 99Z. Regular maintenance and 0 problems so far. Only had it about 2 months now. Looks like the cam covers may be seeping a lil tiny bit of oil (greasy) but other than that...its in tip top shape. Hope she holds for me while i own her!
I just went over 122k. But with a replaced LD9. The motor its self has 32k
99z for 2015.. I'm back bitches
I've got about 70grand on my second motor that came out of a grand am. The first motor blew due to a severe maintenance error (not by me). I havn't had any problems exept for the car wanting to burn a little oil.
had around 58,000 miles on my original 2.4, til it blew because of previous owner. now have about 15,000 on the new 2.4

148,xxx on my '00. Just this weekend I replaced the plastic coolant outlet right next to the power steering pump. What a pain that was!
150,000 miles...and my water outlet is leaking again. This time I bought the AC Delco part rather than the crummy Chinese replacement part.
96,000 on my 02 4 door z manual . Driven hard . Yeah it's got 4 doors but it's still a Z
Just hit 121000 in mine this last week....runs good and never really gives me any problems....Has a oil leak but i cant pinpoint where the hell its coming from... And boo the man above for saying its time for an ECO....boooo him

just turned 130,000kms on my '99Z. I bought it with 106k and change, and have beat it up with almost no problems.

I've heard that the water pump weep hole runs into the oil pan and coolant eats up the bearings pretty quickly. Maybe that's what causes that for some people.
LD9 F23 FTW!!
