Mine made it to 149,000 before she gave up the ghost....i rebuilt the bottom end and it has 179,000 so far, use's about a quart and a half between oil changes,
but the motor is still running strong.
i got a 2.3 but it has 227849 when i parked it today and is strong no problems at all with engine
185,000 miles now. Still runs great. Had to replace the turn signal relay a while back though.
UPDATE-187,000 running pennzoil platinum,bosch +4.original stock internals.many miles left!
01 Z24. gonna turn 237,000 tomorrow. Water pump/ timing chain and all done at 230,000 cuz i ran water for 3 months, not smart, other than that, every other thing has never failed me unlike my 2 LS SPORT's they say are so much better than the LD9's. lol

my 96 Z24 had 160k when I totalled it in 2003. the motor was still running like a champ, even after getting blitzed in the front end by a Dodge van going 55mph
my 98 Z24 had 154k when the trans went out on it. $800 and 6 months later, I had an Ecotec under the hood. sold the perfectly-running LD9 for $300 to a neighbor. sold the car a couple yrs ago to a friend
my 01 Z24 had 98k when #3 blew a hole in the block. I bought the car knowing the motor was bad tho ($1500 for the car, and it had new paint, Type J kit, full exhaust, D-Specs/Sportlines, and 17s). junkyard motor had came from an Alero and had 81k when I pulled it back out.. when it was days from spitting out another rod. I had just checked the oil a couple days before it started knocking, too. the car currently has an Ecotec and Hahn Stage 2 turbo kit

My daughter has my Cavalier now. 198.5K miles on it. Engine runs great but needs a new catalytic converter.
Mine was at 185K miles when the oil pump decided to @!#$ the bed.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
186k i think . lol
My 00 Z24 has 170k km's (105k miles) and drives/runs/looks like new, 3rd owner, guy I bought it from, bought it from his best friend so he knew everything about the car, had a brand new clutch. Car was well taken care of, unlike some other Z24s in my area, only paid 2400, other z24s with beat up bodys, "engine knocking", needs work, over 250k, etc, were selling for 2-4000, there were a few similar cond 00-02 Z24s but they were all 4500-5500 in my area.
2000 Cavalier Z24 5spd - Intake, Dynomax muffler, Hawk Pads, Powerslot rotors, Sportlines/Koni reds, Neon Coil, MSD 8.5 Wires - **SOLD**
2014 Kia Forte Koup SX 6spd - 1.6L Turbo - My new car
2015 Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD - Wifes Car
Bought the car with a dad motor and 163k on the rest. Father in law(gm tech) built a another and put it in 6k ago. Now it needs a cat converter.
2000 Cavi, tinted out maybe more to come
98 Z24 145k miles still running strong. Consumes some oil, and has an antifreeze leak from that plastic housing, but that's not keeping it off the road.
00' 2.4L no mods 240,000kms (148,800 mile) No oil burn strong fuel mileage.
My '99 just rolled 175K and runs like a top. Everything is still original on it including the water pump. Never been touched. Barely burns any oil either. Knock on wood!

1999 Grand AM SE (Beater Car)
1997 GMC Sierra
2007 Honda CBR 600RR
2005 Honda TRX450R
132K and counting, just filled up today and was averaging 22.4 MPG, been higher, but weather is junk around here.
240k and go through probly a quart a week in oil, no knock but not the strongest motor out there but still got a little pep
I retired my '99 with 187K miles (297000 KM's) on it. Oil pump light was starting to flash intermittently while the car was put into the corners and I wasn't going to put another cent into it.
My '99 is at 101k and some change. Still runs virtually perfect (slight shudder every few engine cycles in idle), and burns a little oil (but then again, most older engines do) and is still getting great mileage: 28mpg going 70+, 32 when I pay attention to the tach instead of the speedo (2.5 on the tachometer = 65-70 MPH for mine, that seems to be the "sweet spot")...I could probably squeeze more mpg out, too!
65550 miles and 4th engine the next will hold together or I'll small block it
44K on my '02, Has been supercharged for 20K. Runs like new! (but most of the time she sits in the garage)
I believe I have the highest and oldest LD9 2.4 quad?!! Using quaker state high mileage oil and lucas oil stabilizer. It runs nice still.
